WTB Cubes with Some History

Hi! I’m looking for some puzzles that have some kind of significance in the cubing community.

Whether it was used to get a record, win a comp, or if you feel like it had a big impact etc.

Im really just looking for puzzles with history instead of being just rare.

Im really interested in record cubes! If you’d be willing to talk, I’m just looking for who you are, what the record and comp was, and what the cube was.

look into getting a weilong gts2m. Thats the cube used for the 3.47 former wr solve.

What I think he means is he wants to buy cubes that were used in the official solve
So like buying the exact cube Yusheng used (except that would be incredibly difficult)

Lol yes! This is what I want. And yes I agree getting a Yusheng 3x3 record cube would be difficult lol, but I’m really looking for anything with a cool story.

Ill gladly take any record or like I said a comp winning cube

ill say too from collecting for awhile I feel like I have a lot of the reg puzzles. Like gts2m and og plastic Dayan 2x2’s

Recommend looking in to the Original GuHong and Zanchi. Also the A-V and F-2. These were the top level 3x3 back in the late 2000s early 2010s.

On that note I got a few Alpha Type A-1 3x3's that I can part my ways with. The Alpha Type A-1 is considered to be one of the first true Chinese made 3x3 that was deigned for speedsolving back in 2006. Around that time all we had Rubik's Brands and a bunch of other decently good off-brand cubes from 1981-2006. But the A-1 was specifically designed for speedsolving and was better than what we've been using before the A-1 came along.

Yes But before Dayan came out with the Guhong V1 we had a bunch of other good Speedcubes that where loosely based off the Rubik's V1. But read this Wiki article https://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php?title=GuoJia The Alpha A-1 was the first good alternative to the Rubik's brand for speedsolving.

I do have a few F2s and some Ghosthand cubes lying around in my collection I'm willing to sacrifice them from my collection since I have at least 2 of each of them. But I need to find them.
