Would anyone like to see a documentary about how MoYu took over speed cubing?

I've been thinking that my Youtube channel is kinda boring and it needs something different.

Only if it involves: getting a factory tour and/or interviewing the designers. Additionally some real in depth analysis, not just "Here are the cubes we used to use. Now we all seem to use MoYu because they are better. *roll credits*" You know, like an actual documentary.

I won't do the documentary if I can't get an interview with someone at MoYu. It would be pointless.

i would love to see something like this, I'm always interested into seeing "behind the scenes" type of things with what goes into a product and brand

IMO a 5 minute video of publicly available information online is not a "documentary", its just a YouTube video. Same with a kid reading an email aloud... That's an interview at best.

A documentary would be flying to China to sit down in Moyu's office with a translator and interview the owner and top designers, and do a tour of the factory, all made with professional video and sound equipment with a full-time editor. Along with interviewing top cubers in America and Europe and Australia about their opinion, and maybe even their competitors like Dayan as well. And would be 30-60+ mins long. For example see the Mojang/Minecraft documentary. Or look up the Cubers documentary. Thats the standard i would hold it to... Otherwise its just making a joke of the community if the official moyu documentary is just some 12 year old kids youtube video. It could be crowdfunded if needed. Please don't hype a YouTube video you will make in an afternoon as a " documentary". Moyu said on their Facebook that their office is always open... if there is a documentary someone needs to go and do it properly.

Documentary (n) - A film, television or radio programme that provides a factual report on a particular subject.

Technically it would be a documentary.

Great idea - especially with interviews and all that. However, I think that a five minute video on reading emails is no good.

I like high standards, but this seems a bit over the top. Also, documenting/documentary might not mean what you want it to mean.
I have been disappointed twice in the past with documentaries where people actually did travel halfway around the world but never produced anything at the end. I have also been pleasantly surprised by some info provided in simple youtube videos.

Just make your video as best you can and post it. Some will enjoy it, some won't. It really doesn't matter what you call it, documentary or whatever. It is what it is.
