Will anyone ever come out with a better method than Fridrich F2L + OLL + PLL?

What do you mean 'maybe Roux could work too'? Its like, the method that will overpower Fridrich one day. But I find that one reason some people aren't keen on learning it is because like me, I love big cubes and so far find reduction more fun compared to other methods. And try doing last 6 edges on Roux on a 7x7, its gonna kill you. I've tried Stadler but meh, until someone gets a sub-1 on 4x4 with it, I'm not convinced.

So really, what are we trying to discuss here? A method that can be effectively used on any sized cube or just 3x3? Because if its just 3x3, I would say Roux, if the other, Fridrich.

4x4 M-slices are really easy to do. I can usually avg around 18 3x3 using Roux and Redux on 4x4. That's not very hard. (and smaller 4x4 helps too :D)

5x5 and up is another story. This I admit is Roux's main weakness is anything bigger than 4x4. This is why I bothered with Petrus (I has a backup plan :D). Block building is block building.

Besides...this thread fails..."Will anyone ever come out with a better method than Fridrich F2L + OLL + PLL?" I laugh at that. I won't be surprised if a block building methods gets WR soon

anyone who answered no, obviously have a lot to learn about cubing.

Not wishing to blow my own trumpet, but it took me a week or two of practicing ZZ alongside Fridrich to get a 12s average. I don't really see how that was a waste of time and I have no doubt that if I practiced ZZ purely for the next 6 months I could get a sub 11, if not sub 10 average of 12.

Good luck. (Not sarcasm).

Your question is wrong. There is no 'better' method. It depends on which Methods suits you BEST. Even people using the Beginners method do fine. Someone averages about 1:44 on the 4x4x4 using Reduction.
Of course some methods are better than others. For any time under 20 seconds, it's easier to average that time or better with Fridrich than with LBL, assuming you know all the algs; therefore Fridrich is a better method. A sub-10 average on Fridrich is possible for the world's best, but to get that with beginner's method you'd need to turn at >10 tps every solve, which is completely unreasonable.

Also, what were you trying to say about 4x4? Reduction is the method most fast people use. Anyway I can average sub-1:30 with several methods on 4x4 but they definitely don't all have the potential to compete with redux (or yau).
