Will a better cube give you FASTER solvetimes?

I compelety agree with the part that you shouldn't blame your cube untill you reach a certain limit. I remember I used my crappy Studio cube (no, not storebought, it was worse then that) untill I was like sub-20.

You need good cubes when every 0.1 counts to your average [...]

Soooo... what is this limit?

Do you mean that .1 seconds only matters when you're at "this limit"?... or do you mean that when you're Felix-god-speed, you're more consistent, so every moment counts?

Here is what pisss me off.
Just because in my humble opinion the C4U is the worst one I have you think I'm a complete idiot and the entire experiment invalid.

You are entirely missing the point: Regardless of which cube you use your solvetime isn't significantly affected. Regardless if you think C4U is shitty or not, it din't affect my avg that much and my PB was identical.

I seen a lot of people with my avg OR slower claim that you need a hella better cube to solve faster which is entirely flawed - thus the entire point of my video.

Better cubes get you better times. You can't get a friggin' world record with a type B.
Also, I would advise not to cuss too much here (not at all would be great.) cuz if the mods see it: BOOM. You're gone.

But you can with a Rubik's Core+B Cubies

just get the freaking storebought rubik's brand. Yeah a better cube will give you faster solvetimes.. but it doesnt technically mean the expensive cube.

I'm kinda an advocate of the idea that a half-decent cube (as in like, speedcube-able without too much trouble) will get you almost identical times to the best cube in your preference. I use an old, over broken in Type A, yet I can get 16.5 averages consistently with it. My only non-crappy cube right now is my storebought with not-so-pretty stickers, yet I average 17.5, even with the poor lookahead due to the bad stickers.

I dunno, it's only two cubes, so I can't make a good comparison. I'll finally get a couple more DIY kits once I get my $100 from my dad for straight A's for 3 quarters straight.

Purple C4Y was my main cube for a good deal of time and I don't understand why you call it the worst cube. Mine doesn't pop unless I'm actively trying to pop it and it is very comfortable to turn. It's a bit slower than my C and Taiyan cubes, but it's very nice. That said, I'm not terribly fast, but it's definitely an enjoyable and usable cube.

edit: Woah, you said Purple cube can't cut corners in any way? Mine cuts a good 35-40 degree on all faces.

edit2: I think you're forgetting one other think here. Lets say you get the same times on all cubes. A DIY would still be better because it's smoother and turns easier. My fingers hurt very easily from spending many years on the game boy and playing guitar hero and such. The easier turning feels better on my wrist and fingers.

P.S. if you want your experiment to mean anything, you would do better to do averages of at least 100 on each cube. Get cracking.

But at his level, doing 300 solves would probably lower his average by a couple of seconds, making his first solves meaningless compared to the later ones :p

Utterly terrible use of the scientific method to test your hypothesis.

"I already knew the answer before I tested it." Your data is already flawed in that you cannot prove or disprove any notion that you intentionally altered the solves (as you were solving) to reach the conclusion you did--even though the conclusion you reached to support your hypothesis doesn't accurately demonstrate anything other than the fact that you are very inconsistent in your solves.

Ditto.
You showed extreme bias from the opening of the test. The You arbitrarily defined the storebought as the "control." You only mentioned the fact that you were going to be taking averages. However, at the end, you decided that the best solve times were the best representation. This was shown by your complete disregard for the discrepancy between the averages. You initially stated that you would do an average of five solves, but ended up doing ten. Why? Identical does not mean similar.

Google the word "Frigging". I dare you. Then you can talk about cussing ;)
