Now I will explain. After the 2nd and 3rd solves I was getting really excited, because that never happens much. Then, my hands got really shaky and that miserable 25 comes along. Then what is really sad is the 23 at the end had a PLL skip. Why must this happen to me?!?!?!? WILL THE CUBING GODS SHOW NO MERCY? lol
But, seriously when this happens to you guys what do you do? What do you do when you get 2 solves that are really good and you expect a really good average and then it just goes in the garbage? Also what do you do to calm the nervousness? I mean my arms are still shaking.

Explain any similar situations if you wish.

It's the chrono stress.

Like in competition, under pressure, you got a time shifting. That the surnatural side of the cube.

I don't have this problem. Often after a good time, I get more good times. Whenever I get sub 30 averages, the first solve was very good. Whenever I get sup 30 averages, I do not have a good first solve.

I think the reason I got really shaky is that 18s and not to mention 17s are once in a 100 solves kind of things for me. So after I got 2 in a row, I got really excited.

Try not looking at any of your times until you are done with the average. What helps me the most is just forcing myself to stay calm after every solve so when I have a good stretch I am not prone to shaky hands etc.

A 3x3 cube has 4.3*10^19 possible states. So not all scrambles will lead to faster than your average solves.

The 2x2 cube also suffers from extreme solve time differences but is a lot worse. This is due to this cube only having 3.7*10^6 possible states and some states have tougher than average solving hardness.

I don't look at times until I am done solving, then I will check and see how I did.. since i never really see my average at all it never really bothers me.
