Why do you start speed cubing?

i saw many vids in youtube.. (one is yu nakajima...the prepared solved one!)
i like the sound when the cuber solving it is fast (hahahah)!

so i try..
i mess up!...
how can i improve my fingertricks???
and i solve my cube using my two index finger :confused:
is it ok or proper?

i want to know why do you wanna start speed cubing, my reason was that, when i first learn how to solve it, i showed it to other people that i know how to solve it, at that time, i take me more than a min to finish, and people look away when im too slow, so i want to start speed cubing so people dont look away

in middle school there always used to be a rubiks cube in this game thing, nobody could solve it and i was always interested in it ... in 10th grade i decided to get one and look up the algo's ... w/ the beginners method i got down to around 1:15 ... then, a little over 7 months ago, i started again and learned faster methods, got down to a 20.53 sec best and 28.6 avg (i didnt cube for all of those 7 months, probably half of the time) ... just blindsolved my 1st cube 3 days ago, my cube collection is at 29 now ... currently learning the OLLs, at around 38/57

For me it was kinda like it was destined. I was bored at home and suddenly stumbled upon rubik's cube related stuff(I like puzzles so just suddenly stumbled upon it). I have had past knowledge about it but never cared. So on that day I searched a solution on the net. 2 days later, my friend brings to school a rubik's cube and of course I took it and tried hard to remember the things I learned but failed. The next day I asked him to buy me one and so it began.

I first saw my uncle doing fast solve at 90's (was under minute) and after i make few twists i couldn't solve it. That was very sad and i forget cube for 7-10 years. at summer in 2007 i purchased my first own storebought and started to solve it; i knew how to solve cube just before i get real 1 in my hands (used simulator and things taught by dan brown). My first real timed solve was 2:58 and i thought that i can do it faster; much faster. It was the spark
