for what reasons do you like cubing! i'll start : its so simple to get into yet is so complex, it feels impossible just looking at it scrambled for the first time, then you search up a tutorial and you try and solve, each step is confusing, but you do it finally, and after ~2hours you solve it! theres a burst of dopamine, then you try and do it again, you don't properly understand a step then it clicks, you have a aha moment, maybe that happens one more time, and you feel great, you leave it for a few hours, then you come back, and you have forgotten a alg for a step, then you go to the tutorial and relearn it, maybe that happens 1 more time, now after you've watched so much cubing youtube videos you get recommended some more, then your amazing by the speed people can solve, so you try and learn more methods, until your obsessed, and always trying to get better.

Why do I like cubing? 'Cause I love it. It just makes me feel a 1000x better if I was feeling sad or whatever. Even if I don't perform good while practicing, I still enjoy it. The last 4 months have been the toughest months since I started cubing, because I had to stop cubing for a few time because my parents said that I was cubing a lot and not studying. But 2 days when I started cubing all over again I just felt I was in a world of my own.

There are different reasons for why I enjoy cubing now and in the past.

In the past I really had to think about learning algorithms the correct way, and working on finger tricks. I had to think really hard during a solve to make sure I was doing the right thing, and it was a good way to take my mind of things.

Now I have those habits ingrained into my head, so now I don't think about solving at all, I just space out and then before I realize it, it's been 2 hours. It really doesn't take my mind of anything, it's just another thing I'm doing.

The thing that I like cubing is that there are so many aspects to it. The aspect that attracts me to cubing the most is probably the aspect of always having something to improve on. Imagine you were grinding for 2 months and finally became sub 20 on 3x3. You will have the feeling of relief and happiness from reaching your goal, but that doesn't mean you are done there. When you meet your goal, all that means is that you need a new goal, so you keep pushing to sub 15, sub 10, sub 8, and maybe even sub 5. Then, years later, when you look back at all your progress you realize how much improvement you made, from being a 5-10 minute solver, to being maybe the best in the world.

Another aspect that I love about cubing is the never ending list of things to learn. I really started getting into cube theory, FMC, and advanced techniques after looking at clock. At first the puzzle seemed really simple, just solve one cross, flip, and solve the rest. But then I learned about corner skips, psuedo skips, then simultaneous turns, no-flip methods, and then I created my own no flip method and optimized another. I kept learning so many techniques and became so familiar with the puzzle, and it was so fun! I know that most people don't like clock because it is a weird puzzle to have in the WCA but I really love how much you can keep learning about it. My favorite events are probably FMC, 3x3, Pyraminx, Square-1, and Megaminx. Pyraminx I just like because I am good at it, but the others are so similar to clock in that there is so much to learn and that it almost feels endless. Applying those techniques in solves is even better; the feeling of getting a ZBLL or PBL you know, taking advantage of psuedo corner skips, having a super efficient F2L or S2L, canceling a lot of moves in an insertion under time pressure. That is so rewarding and it just brings so much joy to me.

I like cubing because it is a gateway friends, power, money, and publicity. Solving a Rubiks cube makes you sxcier than the guy next to you.

kidding, I just love extremely nerdy/competitive stuff. Plus, I like cheap yet abundant hobbies. Cubing was the first hobby that I truly became passionate about, and it has totally affected my life for the better. Because of cubing, I want to pursue mechanical engineering in which I can find a job where I can be around other nerdy things.
