Why are megaminxes so small?

I've noticed that all the megaminxes I've seen are really small, and it really hurts your hand after a while. Why don't they make megaminxes something like 5 inches tall, so it would be easier to turn. Is there some reason why the can't be made this big, do they exist and I don't know about them (I'm kind of a speedcubing noob), or is it just me and a bigger cube would make it harder to solve?

I have a chinaminx and a Meffert's. The Meffert's is much smaller, but I prefer it.
Half the challenge with speedsolving a Megaminx is finding the pieces- I find that it's easier for me to pick out the pieces on a smaller minx. Turning the entire puzzle to look at the opposite side is slightly easier with the smaller puzzle.

Is there are real difference? Probably not.

What kind of megaminx do you have? No matter what it is, it shouldn't be hurting your hands. Have you lubed it, or adjusted the spring tension if possible?

Well, Why do you have big hands?

I never noticed anything. And its not THHAAAAAAAT bad.

Does it have to be the size of a Gigaminx/V Cube 7?
To me, it doesn't need to be any bigger than it already is.

To you, but maybe, POSSIBLY, this person could somehow be DIFFERENT than you.
I know the feeling of small cubes, and I don't really like it either. I don't have a megaminx, but did you lube it? Sorry I don't have anything to really contribute, but I kinda had the need to defend you.

Well, now that you mention it, my cube is kinda crappy; perhaps if I hold it differently, it won't hurt that much, I'll try it. It sort of shows how much of a cubing noob I am.

In my opinion, whatever the size of cube/minx, it will never be perfect for all people. For example...4x4s. Some people like a smaller 4x4, such as the mini QJ. Others use a larger cube, like the regular QJ. I personally like the size of the megaminx, but obviously some people will not.

I felt this way when watching videos about the vcube 7, it looks HUGE but when I got it it really wasnt big at all, and The Supernova megaminx is a tad bit bigger than others out there so if you want bigger go supernova, or get tiles (qj/mefferts)

I know what you mean. When I saw pictures of the v-cube 7, I thought it was like going to be as big as my hand, but when I got it, it felt quite small. I suppose it isn't really that small, I was just expecting it to be bigger.

I wish it was a tad bigger because maybe those edge pieces wouldnt be as hard to find, but otherwise it's not that bad.
