I just found it is a really great dream-record for someone to take in the 2-4 relay.

None has done sub 60 yet, but Yu has been really close. If I had resources I would set up a price for this to make it a fun battle but I'm poor :(

I want to see this battle, what can you do guys? (I'm at 2:25 and has got place 37 at the list, but that is just because you have not posted =)

You just need to do a near-WR time 4x4 (the easiest thing ever :D)
4x4: 42
3x3: 12
And then you have 6 seconds to do the 2x2 which should be enough.

In other words, start with the 4x4x4 and take a peek at the time when you're done (or just "feel" the time), if it's not sub-45 there really isn't any point going on if you wanna beat the UWR.

lots of people could do this, but i dont think any of them are willing to try.

Yu and Syuhei have both come extremely close. Keisuke Hiraya and maybe Yohei Oka could also do this.
Erik could obviously do it, but he really doesnt care about this kind of thing.
Milan Baticz is also very good.
Harris has been practicing 4x4 a lot lately, and if he gets a 45 sec 4x4 its very likely that he could easily pick up a 10+5 for the other 2.

this event is a bit of a wild card, i think anyone who has single bests that total to about 57 or less could do this with enough tries.

It seems like Erik and Yu are the most likely to do it if they worked at it, but I don't think either of them is really interested in doing it.

Right now Yu at least through what he posts on youtube videos is slowly reaching out to all of the competition events, but he still seems to be the best at cubes.

However like he says in the description of his pyraminx crystal video he doesn't practice non competition puzzles or events that much. So I don't think he will get to it anytime soon.

Erik also doesn't not seem to do this that much (though I did hear about his 42 cube relay UWR) I think both of them could do it, it's really whoever gets around to it first.

Why does everyone think YN and EA are the fastest cubers?

Andy Tsao can beat this.

Piotr Kozka can beat this.

Phil Thomas can beat this.

Micha³ Halczuk can beat this.

Michael Gottlieb can beat this.

Dan Cohen can beat this.

Tim Sun can beat this.

There may be even others I didn't mention. What really matters is that you get near pb on both 3x3 and 4x4 and at least average on 2x2.

Something like 2x2=4, 3x3=10, 4x4=45 is very solid.

I don't know who is Robert Yau, but it seems like he would be able to beat this consistently on the simulator. He's probably slower on real cube, but not by much. The 2+3+4 rely of his pb solves is sub-40!

They are the ones in the news, and they get lots of records.

It's why Wiis and Ipods sell so well, advertisement. And that's part of the reason why Ipods are almost the only thing people talk about when the topic is MP3 players.
