Which methond for 5x5x5 is best?

Also try you best to write good
you will get crucified by other members of the forum if you dont
"Also, try YOUR best to write WELL."
Still, this thread was unnecessary.

He appears to be asian and doesn't know that much english, leave him be.. You on the other hand should be able to write much better mucklowd..

Edit: sorry for double post

AVG pro/con:

You will only get the same type of parity or no parity.
The exact same method can be used on 4x4x4, it's just 2-pair chain solving expanded.
Very easy to learn.

Look ahead are more restricted to the chain you are solving.
Lucky cases could be harder to use.

Bigcubes pro/con:

More freedom when looking ahead.
Perhaps also a good method for even bigger cubes.
Lucky cases could be easier to use.

More parity cases to learn.
Somewhat harder to learn, i guess messing up the centers and fixing them later takes some time to get used to.

But you should really try both methods and decide for your self. Erik holds the single wr with the AvG method and Dan holds the average record using bigcubes, so no method are the de facto fastest.

shiqi peng: Don't worry about the quality of your English. Everyone can understand you.

For very fast 5x5x5 solves everyone uses reduction-method which has 3 steps:
1) Centers
2) Edge-Pairing
3) 3x3x3

For centers most people do this order
1) The easiest center they see during inspection
2) The center opposite to the first center
3) The easiest center they spot after the second center
4) The easiest center they spot that is adjacacent to the 3rd center
5) The two remaining centers
So on a "BOY colorscheme" that could be white-yellow-red-green-orange/blue

For the edge pairing step there are 2 main systems: Bigcubes and AVG. There are also many variations (no center restore, freestyle) and even mixtures (first 8 triplets with bigcubes, last 8 semi-pairs with AVG) that are quite common.

Bigcubes uses slightly less moves, AVG has slightly better lookahead. Both methods have led to recente world records. You should check out both of them and decide which one you like best.

You already know how to do the final (3x3x3) step
