which is more important- learning all the PLL's or focusing on lowering F2L times??

Say you are using CLL-ELL, then it is much better to improve F2L than learn PLL

Also I voted for f2l, but it depends on how fast you are I think, if you got like 15 seconds f2l or maybe 20 but 5-10 seconds PLL depending on case you should learn PLL to get consistent 4-5 including recognition

CLL = you solve corner orientation and permutation in one alg (40 + 2 cases), that leaves the edges = ELL (29 cases), also in one alg = no need for PLL.

2-look PLL is CPLL-EPLL

PLL because I am assuming that you already know F2L (because you said "or focusing on lowering f2l times")
So you should probably just learn the rest of PLL and faster f2l will just come with practice

If you do F2L very fast and do Cross-OLL and you know the basics PLL's (edges and corners) you can do (of course with a lot of practise) sub-20 or even sub-17

my best avg is 18.76

i do not know full PLL(still need E and N's), and i am only consistently fast at like 8-10 of the PLLs i know.

my f2l avg is about 12-13, but once warmed-up I can get a lot in the 10-11.5 range

I learned all OLL and PLL before working on F2L
I was at a sub28 average when I only knew ~6 F2L "algs", bur after learning all 41 main f2l cases, my times dropped to ~22-23 in less than a month

learn f2l first (like I should have ), its also way easier to learn than other kinds of algs

PLL will only get you so far...F2L and 2 look OLL/PLL can get you sub 25 easy. So go for F2L

Learning PLLs is a one time thing (and of course there are options other than PLL, like CLL/ELL). Working on F2L and looking ahead is something even many sub-20 cubers can work on.

I voted on F2L but with more thought you should probably just knock out a 3LLL. As Shelley said you have the rest of the time you are cubing to get better at F2L. I even need a better F2L.

F2L Makes u much faster than PLL and u need it more...and it takes more time to learn F2L *perfectly*! xD
