Which Event has the Worst Hardware?

I think that other events just have much more choice, since the only viable sq1s are the volt and ylm
Ok, but I still disagree. Both the YLM and Volt v2 are great, but there are 2 editions of the volt, both being good(magnetic slice and fully magnetic). Skewb has 2 flagship skewbs, the wingy and the aoyan. I know there are other skwebs like the cyclone boys and the moyu magnetic, but these are quite old. Also, Clock only has 1 viable clock, with the sengso and the lingao being terrible w/o setup.

I know I left a few events out, but I'm still trying to get good mains for 6x6, 7x7, Pyraminx, & Megaminx. Honestly though, I think the 2x2 market is amazing. The 3x3s are great, as long as you have a GAN, and Clock is my favorite and best-performing event now that the QiYi Magnetic came out. Used to be worst, but eh. Squan is pretty good, but lacks good slice-cutting(?). 4x4 is amazing; just get the QiYi MS and you'll see what I mean. 5x5 is also pretty good, as the QiYi MS is a nice cube and fun to turn. Skewb is I think the worst because I have a MoYu AoYan Skewb and it does not do very well, meaning I don't practice skewb all that much. All in all, though, I think we can agree that the cubes today are better than the cubes of 2009, when Zemdegs entered the cubing scene.
If you don’t do an event you have no right to criticize it. Also, some people hate Gan, and there are more cube companies out there making great cubes like Moyu, Qiyi, and Yuxin.

Beyond the grave.....
(EDIT: This is to JP Cubing. )OK, I agree with you on all those points, I didn't think my point through. The thing where you said vot has fm and ms is redundant though. One is clearly better. Thats like saying there are 3 gan pyras, when one is unanimously better

Again, some people like the volt with magnetic slice more than the volt fully magnetic. But yes, I agree.
Also, I like the gan standard .

i've heard the qiyi clock still isn't completely satisfactory for top clock solvers, so clock is the one that needs the most improvement.

I think the Qiyi clock is absolutely perfect. Although I could see how people used to slow lingaos might find the qiyi too fast.

anyway here is my list:

1. 3x3
2. 2x2
3. Megaminx
4. Pyraminx
5. Clock
6. Skewb
7. Squan
8. 5x5
9. 4x4
10. 7x7
11. 6x6

1. 2x2 (Most of them are the same and relatively cheap)
2. 3x3 (Relatively cheap and have excellent performance)
3. Skewb (Aoyan is too good and really cheap)
4. 4x4 (4x4s literally cut 45 degrees wut)
5. 5x5 (I have a cubicle custom aochuang gts m and it's one of my favorite cubes to turn)
6. Sq1 (Volt v2 and ylm are great, I think there's still some improvement to be made hence 6th)
7. Mega (mega turns really nicely)
8. 7x7 (lockups)
9. 6x6 (lockups)
10. Clock (only 2 good clocks)
11. Pyra (idk i don't like any pyras I have or have tried)

There have been many threads on this forum about which WCA events people like the most, but how about which ones have the best puzzles on the market? 3x3 is probably near the top of all our lists, and sq1 near the bottom, but I am interested to see what events people think need improving. Note: FMC, the bld events, and 3x3 oh are not on the list. rankings are 1= best hardware 11= worst hardware

I'll start!
1.3x3
2. 2x2
3. megaminx
4.4x4
5. 5x5
6.Pyraminx
7.skewb
8.7x7
9.6x6
10. Clock
11.Square-1 Clock and sq1 were tough, I think qiyi clock makes the event no longer the worst

3x3
2x2
5x5
Megaminx
Pyraminx(Gan)
4x4
6x6
Skewb
7x7
Clock
Squan(The only good ones are the volt v2 and the ylm)

11. Square One (Its not really the effort put in by brands, but the nature of the puzzle itself.)

I'm most surprised by the split on 5x5s.

I have 2 5x5s, the YLM and another one I was gifted, and they're both nowhere near the level of turning and corner cutting as my MGC 4x4 or my Meilong 4x4. Even my MGC 6x6 feels better. I assumed there are better cubes and I haven't tried them, but seeing a lot of others rank 5x5 low makes me wonder.
