Which event are you the most likely to get an overall PB in comp?

My hunch says that it is possible for longer events like 7x7 when the flow during the solve is very good for an extended amount of time.

I think it is possible for short events single as well, as 2x2 pyra and skewb singles are luck-based or scramble dependent.

I got an overall pb in 4x4 average at my first comp. It’s been broken now tho. I’d say bc of comp nerves the shorter events aren’t as likely.

Probably long events because scrambles don't matter as much and comp nerves are less likely to ruin a solve.

MBLD, my pb is only 25/25 because I havent done it since october.
Maybe 5BLD as well but I think it's less likely because of high triple DNF potential.

I think that I'm moor likely to get a BP solve with 4x4 because I don't
do many solves when I'm timing my self.

The answer is simple, and it is every event.

A lot of people go to comps without practicing a certain event, and they will get a PB in that event since they do not practice that event a lot. Getting PB's is easier when you are first starting an event then later.

I think overall it’s probably FMC.
It’s a less practiced event, so people aren’t likely to have a good PB at home, and there is also a chance of getting a really lucky official solve.
Personally my current FMC PR (20) is tied PB, and my previous PR (21) was untied PB when I got it.

My clock and feet results were overall PB's when I got them. I think I also got a overall PB ao5 or single at Lafayette Fall 2019 as I borrowed someone's valk 5 (I was using a Wushuang at the time). I don't remember if they were PB's though.
