Where is fairness?

Honestly, ban Yiheng for 6 months
no not my goat Yiheng 😭😭😭

But yeah I kinda agree

Yiheng is old enough to know what he’s lacking in. Don’t tell me with all that video review and coaching they can’t find a way to fix those bad habits. He’s literally 12. He should be much more conscious about what he’s doing during an average now. A thing i learned is that the older you get, the more aware of things you become, which increases your nerves. Yiheng should have been working on fixing his timer starts and stops from the beginning. I’m really disappointed with Yiheng. He needs a 6 month ban

Completely valid, Yiheng should have learnt his lesson, he is older than me. Does the WCA even care that much about what has been happening?

Just ban Yiheng for 6-24 months. The sliding rule is disrespected because Yiheng has been cheating for 3 years and only gotten penalised once or twice. If it's illegal but you don't get punished for doing it, it's legal. 4pad is tough because the WCA is trying to get out from under the thumb of speedstacks. Iirc the contract lasts until 2028, but we don't have access to their 4pad technology as it wasn't used when the wca signed, so they only have access to the 2pad tech. Using 4pad would renew a like 10 year exclusivity contract with speedstacks. Temp ban Yiheng. Sliding IS illegal, you can't just slide and stop early for 3 years straight.

Oh so 4 pad won't work so soon. I guess best option is to ban him for 15 months, that should teach him a lesson...

If he gets banned for 24 months he can’t compete in worlds next year

Because if 4 pad is a thing won’t every result in the wca be reset
Why would that happen???
Did every result in 3bld reset after ao5 was added? No, they just moved on and combined the results of both because it would be too dumb to get rid of all the hard work of everyone in the past like 20 years

Idk I just heard people talking about and also my global with get a lot slower

My wife has an interesting theory: what if Yiheng has enough of cubing and getting sick of it, but there are sooo much pressure from everywhere (parents, companies, etc), that continuing sliding is a deliberate act, a silent rebel; basically asking for a ban.
I mean, what would you do if you were forced to play piano for 10 hours each day (just because you became good at it some years ago), instead of I don't know, go out and play with your friends?
Don't know enough details if this is true, but it's a food for thoughts.

my fellow caleb please research more before believing something😭 4-pad does NOT make your global a lot slower. The most it will do is increase your times by like 0.1-0.2 seconds AT FIRST. 4-pad isn’t really as catastrophic as some people think. It’s just having your thumbs press extra pads. That’s it. It‘s not like you have to a ritual with the timer and do x2 y2 z2 six to seven times in a row😭

They have an exclusivity contract? Since when? Where can I learn more about it?

Your explanation seems off. Here's an announcement of the G5 timer from March 1, 2021:

And here's Kit Clement (who I believe to be very knowledgeable) four days later saying "WCA does not have any exclusivity contract with speedstacks": https://www.speedsolving.com/threads/speedstacks-gen-5-timer.79873/post-1422199

So if the WCA signed after that, then why not with the already announced 4pad?
