When does improvement stop or cap off?

Pretty straight forward I'm just curious how fast do we think we can go? Like Faz for example do you think he's about as good as you can get or if he continued to practice a ton could he improve even further? Also do you guys think that everyone's ceiling in cubing is different? (ie. No matter how much practice/time bob puts in to cubing his limit is around the 10 second mark but Jim's limit is around the 8 second mark) Or can we all achieve the god like averages Feliks has with enough dedication? Just some questions I've been pondering would love to hear others thoughts

I remember speaking to Alex around the time he had a 7.00 avg of 100 and he had so many things about his solves that he wanted to improve upon. If you continue to practice in constructive ways regularly enough you can always get a bit faster.

Edit - might've been 6.99.

Honestly, I think that everyone can be as fast as Feliks. He knows so many different cases, so many COLL's, etc. and that is all from practice. Feliks' main way of practicing is to solve the cube over, and over again and that means that he has solved the cube so much, that I'd be willing to bet that he has run into all 43 quintillion possible cases for the 3x3.

Basically, what it boils down to is practice. However much you practice is how fast you'll be. Bob in your example probably needs to practice transition from F2L to OLL or something like that while Jim needs to practice PLL recognition (just an example I know that those aren't true if you can really solve the cube that fast) but you get the point.

That's my opinion.

He's not even close to all 43 quintillion. Going at 1 case per second, doing all 43 quintillion cases would take something like 1400 trillion years. However, yes, speed is mostly based on practice. Whether or not everyone can be fazt remains to be seen.

Sorry I forgot how big 43 quintillion was... My bad... But he at least knows about a lot of cases.

Sure there limits to how much you improve. But until you stop improving you won't know that. Even if you think you stopped improving you probably didn't yet.
I'm been cubing for 7 years, it took me 2 years alone to get sub-25. You can imagine me thinking this is my limit, I can't improve from here.

In other words, don't give up even if it takes forever.

So cube till I die then I might be finally become fazt? Lol I've been cubing for about 2.5 years now and it always feels like an endless battle with yourself. Like when you average minute and the only thing you want is to break the minute barrier the first few times it feels amazing but then that becomes less and less satisfying... Now I'm down to around 18 seconds and it's the same thing at first it was awesome but now I want more haha. I guess the people that become the fastest are the ones that are the most persistent and keep going even if they feel like they can't get any fazter

I've been cubing for one and a half years now, and improvement never ends. I mean, I started in May 2013, and by October 2013 my PB was 13.24 seconds. And now, in November 2014, it's only gone down to 12.36. Point is, improvement never stops, just slows down. Remember it will always keep moving forward, even if only by a fraction of a second every couple of months.
Once you know all there is to know in terms of algorithms, it's just practice.
I believe that any cuber out there can beat the world record if they put their mind to it. Time is their only obstacle.

I think that Feliks can still improve, but it will take very long. I also believe that everyone has their limit. Some have higher limits than others. Certain people can practice as much as they want and still never reach sub 10, but someone else may reach it easily. Everyone has limits as they do in everything.

Don't mean to be rude but if Faz can still improve then there's no reason why everyone can't be sub 10 right? Compared to what Feliks would have to do to get better sub 10 is childs play
