What's wrong with me?

Here's a video of me solving a 4x4x4. This is one of my better solves because i normally average around 2:45.xx.. Though i do get the occasional sub-2:20..

anyway, I want to know how to improve my time some more.. I find it a little irritating I can't consistently get sub 2:30.. I think i take too long with the 3x3x3 part.. but anyway, what can i do.. I need advice please

your pretty good, get an eastsheen and work on your centers, i average about 2 minutes (im not that great but still) and my centers are around 20 seconds.

Oh and why eastsheen? Won't they eventually be terrible in the long term or something like that?
Btw, I use a new Rubik's 4x4x4 which has been re-stickered with bright colours (heart these..). It's been lubed too..

Yeah, don't switch to an ES. My internet isn't cooperating, so I can't watch the vid right now. I would try using the same techniques you used on the 3x3 to get faster. You could move slower, with less pauses, you could practice a lot, not for speed, but to find good solutions to patterns that come up. Just keep at it, and you'll get it eventually.

What type of edge connection do you use? 1, 2, 3 or 6 at a time?

Yes, he has to use an ES just like he has to use the Fridrich method or he will never be fast.

Work on planning out at least your first center during preinspection. Keep looking ahead; there are lots of delays when building centers. Getting centers under 20-25 seconds isn't very hard. I'd also recommend working on pairing edges 2 at a time. Practice makes perfect. Good luck.

I pair 6 at a time (learnt from Dan's Site) and I use F2L with 3 LLL . My fingertricking is really bad. somehow i can't get it very fast; i take about 6-10 seconds to finish a PLL other than J, U or A.

Do you mean 6-10 sec. on pll at the 4x4x4, or at 3x3x3?

my slowest part is edge pair up. I do 1 or 2 at a time use only 2 algs. I take for ever looking for pieces.

@ Inusagi. I mean on my 4x4x4 or my keychain 3x3x3 cube. I don't have a regular 3x3x3

@ fanwuq. Just practice looking ahead it helps

i guess work on your recodnition and smoothness of your fingertricks. also it looks as though your cube locks up alot. mostly go slow on a couple solves and work on your smoothness and recodnition
