What is it that Feliks so good?

One of the best things about his solves is his ability to execute the cross+first pair like a PLL - uber fast and with full confidence.
I'd say confidence is one of the most important parts of getting fast times. A lot of the time, if I find an X-Cross, I can only execute it at ~4-5 TPS, since I don't have to the confidence to do it as fast as a normal cross. Similar things happen throughout the rest of my solves, mostly during the four pairs.

Also because he's Australian.

Oh yeah, because there are so many fast Australians in 3x3. :p

Practice and zeroing

haha.

Norly I'm serious I think nationality/culture has a great deal to do with ability to perform under pressure :P

Ya, people of certain areas of the world, are sometimes better than others at certain things. Australians could be more dextrous than Europeans and Americans for example. I don't know if this is true or not, just a theory.

I doubt it. There aren't that many fast cubers in Australia when comparing to the rest of the world. And I'm definitely an example of an Australian with terrible dexterity.

I said I didn't know if it was true, but it is a fact that different regions of the world contain people with different types of DNA, and therefore, can do things differently.

I was intrigued by this statement so I decided to do a basic breakdown:

Code:
Country Total	# <15s	<15s %	# <13s	<13s %	# <10s	<10s %	# <8s	<8s %
Australia	96	11	11.46%	5	5.21%	1	1.04%	1	1.04%
Thailand	271	41	15.13%	15	5.54%	3	1.11%	0	0.00%
Italy 213	28	13.15%	16	7.51%	1	0.47%	0	0.00%
UK 123	14	11.38%	7	5.69%	2	1.63%	0	0.00%
France 431	28	6.50%	11	2.55%	1	0.23%	0	0.00%
Poland 329	46	13.98%	18	5.47%	2	0.61%	0	0.00%
USA 2730	144	5.27%	58	2.12%	3	0.11%	0	0.00%

I suppose graphs are more interesting... fun.

Tim.

What I said was partly in jest, but as a pet theory I do think that to some extent personality types and approaches are affected by culture, and since certain personalities tend to be better at performing under pressure, culture may have some effect.

I'm definitely not gonna say anything about DNA. Especially since Faz is mostly Latvian.

His brain.
I got confused at his example solves.... mostly because he's color neutral and I'm not. Even when he did cross on white it almost seemed like he plans a whole pair ahead or more.
