I pair it up and slot into place and solve it use one of 6 algs if it's easy case edge in place cornor above I'l solve it. But what methods do you use as this may help me?

I started intuitive F2L with badmephistos videos and consequently understanding there was 3 basic 'groups' of pairs, the opposite RUR' insert, the pair up before insert, and the make pair on side, and all cases were essentially getting to one of these case groups. Difficult to say what method I used initially for intuitive rather than relate everything to these groups. In time I have replaced difficult cases with algs and the rest are just ingrained as intuitive algs now.

If you havent watched the Badmephisto videos on intuitive it may be worthwhile for you as the guy has a great understandable teaching style and I never had to watch those two videos a second time.

[Edit] Rightly or wrongly assuming CFOP!?

Theres more then one?!?!?!:fp

Notice that neither the title nor the original post contain the words "Fridrich method" or "CFOP". It simply says "F2L". F2L may be a step in the "Fridrich" method, but F2L =/= Fridrich. F2L means first two layers. If you solve the first two layers with the Petrus method, or the ZZ method, it is still "initiative[sic] F2L"

ZZ with lots of blocks.
If the OP is looking for a general answer, then this.

If the OP is referring specifically to Fridrich, then I don't do anything special. Mostly setups into either an R U R' or R U' R' insertion. I don't know many F2L tricks for Fridrich, so this is not only how I do it intuitively, but pretty much how I do it period.

I just deal with it.

So I guess FreeFOP then. I just try preserving everything, slightly holding onto CFOP.
