What happens when I add lube to my gan cube...

So I've added some lube to my cube, and the turning feels really smooth and great.
After a while, however, stuff starts getting caught in the honeycomb surface in the edges and corners. I know this doesn't affect turning or anything, but it just looks really bad for me, and I think it may be caused by the lube as it's sticky so stuff will stick to it easier. I just don't like it when I spend half an hour cleaning out the dirty stuff and then tomorrow seeing it again.
Is there any way to get rid of this problem?

Get different lube, especially if it goes past its best before date and starts leaving dust and drying up fast (happened to me after I didn't cube for a year and used my gan lube again). Something from SCS or TC will probably last longer and you can choose what lube you want.

At least it didn't literally melt, which is what happened to my first 4^3. So crushing.
