This is my honest and sincere advice to newcomers, or their parents. Please listen. If you don't have a lot of money to spend in this and want and get a really excellent cube, just buy the Guhong Pro M and you can forget buying another cube for a long time. It's flagship quality and performance at a very reasonable price. Half price. Don't get sucked into the game called - Try and buy another one again, and again, trap. The cheaper $17 Standard version is for those who like a fast light but looser feeling, the more expensive $20 Maglev version gives you a little more stability or ease of control. That's it.
If you really need a truly budget cube with good performance, then check out the QiYi M Pro Standard. I recommend strongly that you spend a few dollars more for the Guhong though.
You can google and you can read the reviews, and it also depends on whose review and who you want to believe. IMHO I don't believe there are better budget cubes than these ones.
