What are the best methods for improving TPS?

But both of these are just starting points. Knowing what to do and how to do them and getting comfortable with it may not be enough. I believe you have to practice speed itself. First, take a simple move, let's say it's U. How fast are you able to execute it? One move, not U many times in a row. Now, this is just the smallest part. One single move. You know what to do before you execute it. You're going to make a U move. Then you move your finger as fast as possible. Easy, right? And I don't think it would take you a second to do it... not even half a second. 1/10th of a second, perhaps? And the brain is nearly always faster than the finger. So next is the trick of getting from one move to another without even the slightest pause. So you try a longer series of moves like U R'. Back to brain speed and finger speed, your brain has to think faster. Don't think U then R'. Think U R' as one single move. Basically, skip right to the R' as soon as you think of starting the U. Or even more specifically, aim to complete your R' at the same time you start your U. Otherwise it becomes Start U/Finish U/Start R'/Finish R' which is much too slow. Our cubes are quite sophisticated nowadays and the corner cutting ability allows you to start the second move before the first one is completed. You can practice U R'... pause... R U'... pause... (repeat). R U' is simply the reverse movement. Eventually you can train your mind and your fingers in similar ways to execute longer triggers (say, 4 moves) or entire algs (say, T-perm:14 moves). Triggers are good (R U R' U' is a common one). If you can get those so it's thought of and executed as one "move" then you know you are quickly getting to the U' once you start the R. Sometimes you can work on a specific section of an algorithm to improve that part (maybe it includes a regrip, for example).

Anyway, those are my thoughts about that. Nobody, when running, waits for their weight to roll from the heel to the toe before moving their other leg.

Like learning to read, you start of with individual letters, eventually you can read words and after a lot of reading you just see the words and instantly know what it means without consciously reading them. Or for cubing, you see a case and instinctively know what moves to do. That´s how the PLLs have changed for me over time, at the beginning I used a lot of triggers but when I learned the algorithm properly it just goes in one flow. About a month since I learned the last PLL, and I still use sub triggers for some of them, so it takes a bit of work to achieve unconsciousness execution.

Thanks to everyone (especially sneaklyfox and ncube). I know my lookahead isn't great but it is okay. Like I said my last layer is quite a bit faster than f2l. I will make an ao5 later (if I have time) to show you guys.

In addition I have just learned z rotation N perms as the RUL once were pittiful for me.

I never bothered to learn the z rotation N perms simply because of laziness, but i did learn one RUL version that i altered a bit.
i dont know of anyone who uses this alg, but im pretty sure some people do. basically at some point there's L R', which is just an M' turn so i made the alg into this:

L U' R U2 r' F M' U' R U2 L' U l'

right ring finger from UB to BD.
you can end with an R' instead but thinking of it as l' makes it easier for me.
i actually like this alg, although i can't say it's better than the z rotation version.

Take my recent 23.x Ao5. A 23 second solve for me would ordinarily mean 2 seconds cross, a further 11 seconds F2L, then 9-10 seconds LL (and thats 1 look OLL and 1 look PLL!).

I think you are doing just fine. I have been cubing almost a year now. I am also 40-ish of age. I average around 28 - 29 seconds. If you look in the substep cometition my last layer is sub 8 seconds. I think a few months from now your last layer will also be much faster. In all fairness, how fast can a last layer be when you cube just 4 months and allready know 57 OLL's and 21 PLL's? They are just freshly learned ;) In a few months they will be true mussle memory (with out a single thought).

How do I increase my overall TPS?

F2l requires lookahead and not too fast speed but oll pll require...
How to increase the tps with some quick executions, triggers and fingertricks.
Pls reply without the rur'u' trigger.
This way I can slow down at cross and f2l and reduce the overall time at oll pll stage.
Thanks

My me aolong v2 came in the mail Friday i lubed it etc.after getting used to the color and the speed I've been noticing while doing lags that i get turns for seconds felix zemdegs worthy in small burps doing the lags is this good it got me to a 38 sec pb is this good and what can i do to get that constantly.

lags=locks
Felix=Feliks
My me=my

It's not cubes fault, that it is locking. Just practice and learn new things. One more thing lookahead>tps

Look ahead = TPS. If your turning fast with little bursts but are pausing a lot, it will result in less TPS. If your turning slower but smoother, then your TPS will be higher. so in fact slowing down and looking ahead will actually increase you're TPS.

You know what I mean. It was just written fast.

TPS takes practice, it's like being ambidextrous.

In my opinion, increasing your tps isn't important until you could reach the sub-15 mark.
That's definitely agreeable.

And I hate the term "TPS" or Turns Per Second. You should be practicing efficiency, accuracy, speed and recognition to improve "TQ" or turning quality.

Turning quality is the quality of your turns.

Practice that, and practice TPS, but TQ is much, more important. Look ahead is also very important and will improve both TPS and TQ.
