Hello, welcome back to Week in Review for Week 30 of 2022! I have had an extremely amazing and eventful couple weeks travelling and cubing, but I'm happy to be back with Week in Review!

Here is a weekly update on notable results from the 28 competitions in Week 30. Please enjoy
:)

Records

Here are the top records of the week:

  • Max Park set a new 6x6 World Record Single of 59.74 Seconds at the CubingUSA Southeast Championship! Before this competition the WR was almost 10 seconds slower, and this was one of Max's 4 World Records for 6x6 this weekend!
  • This Single was part of a 1:09.23 World Record Mean! This lowers the World Record by over 6 seconds!
  • These records improved Max's previous WRs from two days before, a 1:04.77 Single and a 1:11.14 Mean!
  • Outside of Max's crazy 6x6 records, the most heard about record of the week was Tymon Kolasiński breaking the 3x3 World Record Average with 4.86 Seconds at Cube4fun in Warsaw! This is of course the first ever sub-5 average, and sees Tymon reclaiming the record after having his only previous 3x3 WR beaten by merely 0.01 earlier this year!
  • Caleb Trelford broke the Clock World Record Average with 3.81 Seconds at the CubingUSA Southern Championship! This is Caleb's first World Record and is also the first ever Clock WR to solely use the recently popular No-Flip method!
  • Tommy Cherry Set a new 3BLD World Record Single of 14.51 Seconds at the Southeast Championship! Whilst this only improved the previous record by 0.1 seconds, this is Tommy's 4th consecutive single WR for 3BLD over the past year!
  • DongSoo Park (박동수) set a new 6x6 Asian Record Mean of 1:18.71 at the NTU Big Cube Open! The previous Asian Record Single was not even sub-1:20, and this places DongSoo 3rd in the World!
  • In this Mean, DongSoo Park also achieved an Asian Record Single of 1:16.42! This places him 6th in the World!
  • In an earlier round, Anyu Zhang (张安宇) set a new 6x6 Chinese Record Mean of 1:26.02! This places him 8th in the World and would be Asian Record if not for DongSoo Park!
