Hello and welcome back to Week in Review! I'm quite happy to be back, especially with so many important records being broken in the past few weeks :)

Here is a weekly update on notable results from the 35 competitions in Week 23! This week included: All five stops on the Colorado Mountain Tour from Saturday to Wednesday, starting at Golden on the west side of Denver and venturing through the Rockies to the city of Grand Junction, two Pride-themed competitions in Vancouver, Canada and Long Beach, California, Zayn Khanani +2ing out of the first ever sub-1 2x2 Average, Mitchell Lane tieing his iconic 6.25 3x3 single from 10 years ago, and my friend Sam Shaw dropping their FMC PR by 20 moves to achieve a 25 single at FMC London Summer amongst many other exciting events and records.
Please enjoy :)

Records

Here are the top 10 records of the week:
  • We of course have to start with Max Park breaking the 3x3 World Record Single with 3.13 Seconds in the Pride in Long Beach First round! This destroys the WR of 3.47 set by Yusheng Du 4 years, 6 months and 18 days prior, making it the second longest-standing 3x3 single in history behind the first ever WR in 1982!
  • Yunhao Lou (娄云皓) broke the FMC Asian Record Mean with 21.33 Moves in the FMC London Summer First round! This is Yunhao's first record outside of his 8 WRs and 2 AsRs in Clock and beats his UK Championship 2022 winning mean by 2.67 moves, placing 3rd in the world!
  • In the final of this competition, Theodor Nordstrand tied the FMC European Record Mean of 22.00 Moves! Theodor holds this record alongside three others from three separate countries, including Sebastiano Tronto's former WR mean from 2019, and this places 6th in the world!
  • Bartosz Karpiński broke the OH Polish Record Average with 10.54 Seconds in the Energy Cube Ciechanów Final! This is Bartosz's second NR and breaks Michał Pleskowicz's NR and former ER average of 10.71 from December 2018, placing 8th in Europe!
  • Firstian Fushada (符逢城) set a new 7x7 Indonesian Record Single of 2:01.16 in the Singapore Special Final! Fush's first 7x7 NR of the year marks his seventh year being the NR holder for this event, and this single places him 17th in the world!
  • Martin Vædele Egdal set a new 3x3 Danish Record Average of 6.25 Seconds in the Rødovre Cubing Second round! It may have been the less important 6.25 this week to many, however this breaks Martin's own 6.28 average from April and places 14th in Europe!
  • Inigo Miguel B. Palisoc set a new 5x5 Filipino Record Single of 45.83 Seconds in the Laguna Speedcubing Open II Final! After a few close calls Inigo has broken his own 5x5 NR single of 46.41 after 3.5 years!
  • Ray Ng Qi Rui (黄启瑞) set a new SQ-1 Singaporean Record Average of 7.10 Seconds in the Singapore Special Final! This average broke his previous NR by an outstanding 1.36 seconds and puts Ray at 4th in Asia!
  • Victor Glyrskov broke the Clock Danish Record Single with 3.99 Seconds in the Rødovre Cubing Final! This is of course the first sub-4 single for both Victor and Denmark and his third NR overall!
  • Felipe Medel broke the OH Chilean Record Single with 9.00 Seconds in the Montealegre Autumn Open First round! This breaks the previous NR from 6.5 years ago of 9.69 and places 5th in South America!
