I've read a lot in this forum and I think you are all great speedcububers .I'd like to know how did you came so far.
I'd like to know when you stared cubing( which method)
when you changed method
.... at which times
....

I'll start:
A friend tought me how to solve the rubiks cube(LBL method)
then I started to learn a Friedrich-like method
Then 2 look OLL and PLL
F2l (first trying with algs now intuitive)
Full PLL
met Stefan(SinH) and David(Kickflip1993) in vienna: they told me that my pll's are s**t learned new pll's from stefan's pll list and his videos, found some other in frk17's videos
started oll's
Now learning last 7 OLL's :)

Uh....

Tyson Mao video on Rubiks.com
A lot of practice
7 OLLs + F2L
F2L Practice
All PLLs(1 day) and OLLs(3 days) =(4 days)
Learn other tricks and algs over the months
Learned other methods
Practiced other methods
Practiced everything
Switching to Roux
Learning CMLLs whilst practicing Roux

LBL
then i gave up
started cubing again and realized that LBL's LL was dumb
learned Petrus 1L OLL (corners only) and 2L PLL
couldn't blockbuild =P
learned F2L and 1L PLL
learned 1L OLL
cubed a lot

Dan Brown's method, the Beginner method
I learned from youtube of course.
I stopped cubing for a while, wasn't really interested in speedcubing yet.
I got back into it, lowering my times, got a PB of 23 seconds, which I did twice.
I am now learning the 2 look PLL and 2 look OLL and the faster F2L.

The Pursuit of Happyness
Christmas 07
Dan Brown's method
F2L
4LLL
to lazy to learn 2LLL - I should

Saw a speedcuber on youtube
Tried learning Fridrich, weirded out by the algs (didn't realize F2L should be intuitive)
(A year or so later) gave it another go, didn't understand Heise, learned Petrus (first real solve I've ever done was Petrus)
Switched to ZZ
Learned COLL

ound a cube in my closet, and played with it

one day decided to learn how to solve it

found Thrawst's tutorual on Youtube and watched it

learned 2 look oll and 2 look pll in 1 week

learned full pll, then full oll, then 'the' 41 f2l cases, in about 1 year

learned how to solve some other puzzles

learned more 3x3x3 stuff

always liked the cube but didn't know how to solve

friend solves cube, I wanted to beat him.

I learned by myself in 3 weeks using a somewhat LBL concept but with my own LL

After beating him, I tried learning Fridrich, Petrus, Heise, and several variations of those methods. But quit for 6 months.

Went back to cubing after a long time. Got 2x2, 4x4 and 5x5 and learned to solve them in about 3 days.

learned basic Roux :D:D:D:D:D:D

more roux stuff. Got more and more miscellaneous puzzles.

less roux stuff. more practice on other puzzles.

My brother taught me the basic LBL method.
Then, I tried to learn Petrus and Ortega before switching to Fridrich.
Learned 2-look OLL; 1-look PLL.
Learned F2L, which I am just finishing up now.

I used algorithms and tutorials from http://cubestation.co.uk/

I saw someone at my school solve the cube in 2 minutes!!!
A few months later I saw pursuit of happiness and bought a cube at KB Toys.
I learned Beginner's from Dan Brown.
Then after some googling, I found this website and switched to Fridrich with badmephisto's awesome videos.
After learning a few of the 2-Look OLLs and PLLs, I learned intuitve F2L from meph.
I then started to learn the PLLs VERY VERY slowly (on G-perms) from meph's website.
A few months ago I switched to Roux for a few days, and stopped.
I tried ZZ, and I couldn't blockbuild for my life.
Now I do EO, Cross, F2L, OLL, PLL. I still can't predetermine my EO if there are 8+ badly placed unoriented edges during inspection. I also can't yet do the cross while I'm orienting the edges.
I average around 30-40 seconds (except after not cubing for a weekish due to finals my SD is almost 30 seconds.... and my average is in the mid 40s)
It will probably settle again, though.

It started with a fad at our school. No one does it anymore....
Went online and learned LBL with 2 alg (1 1st look OLL alg and sune) OLL and 2 alg PLL (corner and edge cycles)
Learned about Fridrich and failed (this is 2007, no badmephisto yet...), but alway had the concept in my mind. I eventually figured it out when I was studying 2nd part of LBL.
Lost interest for 2 years somehow.
Learned about more algs in LL.

Some kid in my class had a keychain cube which he had no idea on how to solve.
My other friend bought a storebought cube and during the bus ride on a school trip to D.C. I was trying to solve the cube for the whole ride.
My brother bought me a storebought cube......first learned some crappy method on rubik's.com(avg 3mins)
Learned petrus from lars's site.(avg 50sec)
Stopped cubing(1year??)........Then moved to Brooklyn(From Jersey)
Had no friends after I moved and I was bored out of my mind(Didn't have internet or T.V. yet) so I took out my storebought cube again.
Lubed with vaseline(got somewhat better)Stickers began to peel off badly and couldn't even tell what color some of the stickers were when trying to speedsolve.
Started learning fridrich from badmephisto. Pll, Oll, etc
Bought diys and ES collection from c4y.....yay
Practice, practice, practice......both petrus and fridrich

It started with a fad at our school. No one does it anymore....

Funny you say that, I started a fad at my school in an attempt to get more cubers, but only one or two still solve.
I got a cube for christmas 2008 from my grandparents, fooled around for a few days then looked it up on the internet. I could get up to the last layer with a written description, then I saw Dan Brown's video and worked on that method until I got a best time of 42 seconds, and realized that these cubers with this so-called "Fridrich method" were much faster. I went to speedcubing.com and printed out f2l algs and tried to learn them all! Learned intuitive f2l and 4lll from lancetheblueknight and got algs from macky's site. I just keep practicing!

Got me some good ole' Dan Brown Knowledge
Realized it was noobish after 2 months
Learned Fridrich intuitive F2L
Figured I might as well fix my last layer so I learned 2 Looks
Couldn't break sub 30 1 month later
Learned 1 Look PLL
Learned OLL so I could break sub 24-ish
And... Here I am now, stuck at 20-21 seconds, trying but failing to consistently break 20... I'll get it one day

06-09-18 Started Speedcubing.
06-11-24 Rememberd Fridrich Method completely.
06-11-26 Achieved sub20. (19.56 seconds)
06-12-31 Achieved sub17. (16.40 seconds)
07-02-09 Achieved sub15. (14.45 seconds)
07-02-17 Rested Speedcubing for a month. Because I cut my fingernails to the quick.
07-04-04 Returned Speedcubing.
07-04-17 Achieved sub14. (13.84 seconds)
07-05-19 Achieved sub13. (12.92 seconds)
07-06-20 Achieved sub12. (11.75 seconds)
07-07-12 Achieved sub11. (10.84 seconds)
07-07-28 Entered "Japan open 2007". Finished third (13.66 seconds). It was the first competition for me.
07-07-31 Started practice of One-handed.
07-08-13 Achieved sub50 of One-handed. (49.49 seconds)
07-08-18 Achieved sub40 of One-handed. (39.18 seconds)
07-08-31 Achieved sub30 of One-handed. (29.95 seconds)
07-10-5,6,7 Entered "World Rubik's Cube Championship 2007" and won (12.46 seconds). I became the world champion.

Oh wait, that's not me. :(

Learned to solve the cube from the solution booklet.
Later, learned a basic solution with keyhole F2L and 4 algs (fruruf + inverse, sune + mirror, A perm, U perm + mirror) for LL. Got down to about 35 seconds by casual practice. At this point I was really interested in patterns and just learned a more efficient method in order to have better understanding of the cube.
About two years after that, got interested in speedsolving. Learned full Fridrich in about two months, PLL then F2L (w/ algorithms) then OLL. I guess I was about 25 seconds when I finished learning that.
Then just practice. I still use full Fridrich for speed, no extra sets of algs, although I do generally make a bit of an effort to orient edges during F2L. But yeah, just practice.

Bought a 25th anniversary cube and solved it completely intuitively (with a few days trying to get the last layer-eventually got a skip), then never touched it again. This October, cubing took hold at my school, and I joined the craze. Learned Dan Brown after failing to understand Lars' site. ~2:00 average

Was skeptical of Fridrich as just being a small advancement of LBL, but learned F2L anyway, completely intuitively. Later made it smoother with YouTube (don't remember who). ~1:15 average

Tried to learn Waterman, but kept speedsolving with LBL. Came across a PLL on a solve (U Perm), then decided to learn 2-look PLL and 2-look OLL. Finished those PLLs in a day, OLLs in a month (unmotivated). ~1:10 average

One day, decided to learn T and Jb perms. After that, I learned all but my Gs and Ns in less than a day. ~1:00 average

Learned all dot OLLs, don't know exactly why. ~55.xx average

Finished PLLs. ~40.xx average

Did MASSIVE amounts of PLL Time Attacks. Changed PLL algs several times. ~30.xx average

Practiced over many months. Stuck at 21.xx averages of 12

Got a cube as a gift back in November 2006. Solved it, put it back into the corner of my room. Took it up again in March 2007 and after some playing, I started learning algs on April 17, 2007 ;)
First I used the so-called "Spiegel method", a beginner method which is pretty popular in the German-speaking area because it was once published by a big magazine, "Der Spiegel". Then I switched to 2-look OLL/PLL (took me about a week to learn, but I still used the old Fridrich fingertrick-enemy-algs). STILL solved the First 2 Layers separately. When I was at about 30 seconds, I started with F2L and got down to 21. In summer vacation, I finished learning OLL and learned another set of PLL algorithms. When I was back at home I suddenly was Sub-20. I got faster pretty quickly and by the end of September I was Sub-15. Then it took me about half a year to settle in the low 13s, high 12s. In June 2008 I did an official Sub-13 avg and since then, I am pretty stable in the 12s (at least at home). By now, I am rather at 11- low 12 seconds, and that's it so far.

Funny story behind my cubing, actually.
Friend had one, could solve it in like, 3 minutes. I was amazed. I went out and got one. 1 week later I had it solved(On my own). After I did it, I looked up the solution online so I could do it every time. Then didn't care about it. Few months later I went out with a girl and saw a cube in her purse. In my manliest voice I said, "Let me solve that for you." Solved it in about 2 minutes. She then solved it in about 1:30, and it was on. We started going out and racing. We have long since broken up, but are still great friends, and still race eachother.

anyway. When I was at about 50 seconds I looked into Fridrich F2L, and a 4LLL. That moved to 3 look, now at a 2.5LLL.

I now average about 20-23 seconds. The girl I talked about before now averages high 20s(I win :))

found the Dan Brown Method on youtube
bought a cube
practice.
Found better last layer method
practice a lot
accidently learned 2look PLL (when checking video about bld)
competed the first time
learned Intuitive F2L
practice
2look OLL
and that's where we're now
