What do you do when organising a comp? Do you also choose the events and location?

Typically, the first step in organizing a competition is finding a suitable venue.

Schools, churches, smaller-sized convention centers, and universities are good places to start with when looking for a venue.

In terms of choosing events, you can choose the events however, you need someone to delegate it. Most of the time this isn’t a problem, but the delegate also has to agree with the events you choose, so sometimes you might have to be flexible.

Keep in mind that the delegate will usually only do that for organizational concerns. If they did it because they didn’t like the event, that wouldn’t look very good.

One thing to note when organizing a comp is that you WILL have to ask some questions, as stuff will be new. Don’t be afraid to ask question to the delegates; they will be happy to answer them.
