I just lubed my 7x7x7 for the first time yesterday and now I started to try to get sub 10 minutes with it (I know I'm slow but that's my business) and my first 3 times today are:

13:47,72
13:47,74
13:47,70

I laughed so hard. I had alot of pops in each solve so I think I can be sub 10 minutes within the next days. =)

eehm I don't know what Extrapolation means, but two solves after the first of these three solves he has a time that is two hundreds of a second faster --> he improves 1 hundred of a second per solve on average

Yes, but you don't really think that I will improve with that speed? It was just 3 solves... the 4th was low 13 minutes. =)

My best on the 5x5x5 was 3:02,XX and I have to say I don't practise that much. I just had a 12:56,XX on the 7x7x7 with 2 major pops.

Mine was very stiff. I got mine when they came out one year ago. I loosened it by unscrewing the screws by 360° (one full turn) and lubed it. But I think I will tighten it (maybe a quarter turn) if I still have so many pops.

You tightened the rivets, eh? Well I'm sorry to say that turning, what do indeed look like screws, does absolutely nothing. It will probably be the lubricant doing all the work.

I'm still waiting on getting my 7x7, I was intending to get one during the sale. I missed that so thought I just wait a few more months, it turns out the prices are practically the same so I still may get one for the Summer!

This is weird, when I compare my times to yours: Your 2x2 PB is two times as fast as mine, your 3x3 PB is over 10 seconds faster than mine your 4x4 PB is exactly the same as mine, your 5x5 PB is almost a minute faster than mine, your 6x6 PB is two minutes (!!!) slower than mine and your 7x7 is also two minutes slower than mine. I wonder why this is the case?

Because I don't practise the same amount for each cube. 7x7x7 is now down to 12:37,XX. Just did one solve yesterday. On the weekend I will try to go sub 10 and I think I can do it.

But I don't practise 6x6 and 7x7 that much either...

Yeah I'm slow. I'm really looking forward for my black V-Cube set and a new sticker set. I have big problems with orange-green and red-black.

Man I wish mine was tight. The obliques just fall out without me even noticing some of the time. Other times they fire out like bullets. In any case I could go faster if I tightened it. I made a mod for the V5 by slicing some old type a washers in half and sliding them under the screw heads, but this seems much trickier on the 7x7. I'm not sure if there's is anything I can do, but I'll try the washer trick I spose.
