Just thought I'd update you guys on how 'my' experiment is going. For those of you who dont't know what I'm taling about here is how the method works:
1. Cross
2. Keyhole F2L + Place Last Edge and Orient LL edges with ZBF2L(1 of 24 cases)
3. Orient LL Corners(7 cases)
4. PLL
I found that by using ZBF2L you have a greater chance of experiencing an OLL skip. This is due to using algs from ZBF2L that preserve or flip certain edges. These algs also affect corners- though not directly- so that if you know how the alg works you can presevre LL and achieve an OLL skip. This can sometimes result in a full LL skip because the pieces are either already in place or come together when you preserve the LL orientation with ZBF2L.
Using this method I have gotten my fastest time of 21.45 and an average of 28 sec- though this is not fast for most people it is fast considering the fact that I am a 'beginner' starting only two months ago. So in the hands of an experienced cuber, this system could yeild faster times.
My average Cross requires 2-4 seconds, my F2L needs 13 seconds(Keyhole+ZBF2L), my OLL is 5 seconds, and my PLL is 4 seconds(3 seconds per alg but 1 second for recognition). This is a theoretical average of 26 seconds. If I were to delete OLL I would have a time of 21 seconds which is my fastest time.
That's just my update in case you are interested.
