I didn't know where to post this exactly but here it is. I was carrying my 3x3 in a scrambled state the other day and it dropped on the floor. All of the center caps came off and I thought that would be fine as long as I put them back on with the correct orientation to each other. However, when I went to solve it came to an unsolved state with two edges to be swapped at the end. I don't understand how just rearranging the center caps could make the cube unsolvable. Is this possible or do I have a poltergeist?

You put the centers one slice off.

Edit: Like, if you did an E turn, then took all the edges on E out and put them in the right place relative to the corners, then the centers would be one slice off which isn't possible.

Same as void cube parity, which is possible due to no centers.

this is so weird, are you sure non of the edges came out? or maybe some one moved it for you, or if you rotated the centers maby something weird like that could happen, if any caps ever come off of mine I always solve it then put the caps in

Thanks for the quick replies. This forum seems pretty awesome. I've never owned a void cube but I guess I understand how you can have parity thanks for the explanation. I ended up just popping the edges out and switching them.

I was really just hoping you all could tell me I had a poltergeist messing with my cube. I wasn't worried about how to fix it

Ya, that happened to me once. And it was me when I just started so it took me an hour to figure out that I had to rearange it to make it solvable :P.
