the difference is that those cubes are still usable today, especially the original WRM, since cube performance has pretty much plateaued. but you really would struggle with a zhanchi due to its corner cutting design being not quite up to par with modern standards

dude the moyu weilong GTS is just so good, and I got a GTS 3 m recently and its so nice.

This might sound ridiculous but I feel like I missed the golden age of cubing hardware, between the 2011 guhong and 2018 gts2m, where every new cube release was concretely better than the last. I knew about the SS forums at least in 2012 but as a child I was too lazy and stupid to practice cubing with not awful algs and it also I felt I was too slow to need a speed cube, not realizing how much it was holding me back. I knew I didn't have the best methods back then, but I could've improved so much just by reading the forums here. Now I know those things but don't have the drive I used being old and tired.

The Guhong cube is still the best imo.

Dayan later on tried to revive it with Guhong V4 but that cube released in 2019 was just too light and uncontrollable.
