Well of course I'm using a beginner method, so right after doing the middle layer, I try to get the yellow cross/fish. Usually this isn't a problem, I get the backwards little L in the upper right and do F R U R' U' F', or F U R U' R' F' and that usually gives me a something that I can keep going with. But right now, doing either of those just gives me a pattern where I never get any variation of the cross, I just keep getting variations of the little L and the line or neither. Here is my cube as of now, the front face being orange, down being white, up being yellow, right being blue, left being green, and back being red. The white face and all the way up to the middle layer is done.
Front Face
|Blue|Yellow|Blue|
Right Face
|Red|Green|Yellow|
Left Face
|Yellow|Red|Orange|
Back Face
|Red|Orange|Orange|
Up Face
|Green|Yellow|Green|
|Yellow|Yellow|Yellow|
|Yellow|Blue|Yellow|
As you can see right now I have both the L and the line, but not the cross. If I do any combination of the 2 alg's I said above, the Up face will just repeat itself in a pattern, getting me nowhere. Oh and by the way, the up face is as if you were looking at the front face, and then moved the whole cube down so that the old Up face, is now the front face. Can anybody help me out with this because it's happened twice to me recently and I just get frustrated because I usually don't get this "rare" case I guess.
