Hello, i ordered the ultimate zhan-chi from lubix. this is my first speed cube. ive used a store bought my whole life. is there a chance the cube could be "too-fast" for me to control?
The cube can be tightened if it is too fast, also the cube will slow down over time. It's too fast for you currently, as you are used to a storebought. You will get used to it, but if it's really a problem, you should tighten it.
thanks. i also ordered an aplpha-v. would it be a good idea touse that to get used to a faster cube and then use my zhan-chi. or is that just a time waster?

That all depends on what type of cuber you are and what your times are. If you are a rough cuber, you will probably overshoot quite a bit. If you are a new cuber >45 seconds average, you will get used to it and become accustomed to it probably better than those who have been cubing for a longer time.
Also, an alpha 5 and a zhanchi are going to feel way different. It would probably be better if you just got used to the zhanchi. Although you might not like your alpha 5 after getting used to the zhanchi.
