Perhaps I'm not the only one that's noticed this.
Normally, my average is around 28 seconds.
However, I've found that If I solve my 5x5x5 a few times before solving, my average is 1 or 2 seconds less.

Also, I've found that my times are a few seconds less if I'm listening to music while taking an average.

With those combined (like just now),
My average was 25.58!

yep i sometimes solve a little bit of my 5x5... then when i get to my 3x3 im reminded of how trivial it is compared to the big one, and everything just seems much more simpler :)

I dont have any big cubes... but I have solved it with music and havent noticed much difference.

Well... the first solve (with music) i tried this morning after reading this was 25.3 seconds, but the others were all pretty similar to the times i get when no music (27 to 33 ish).

never tried either but, but if i do, does that mean i'll get a sub 20 avg?

I know that If I just cube in silence, my times suck. I start to feel uncomfortable when the cube is the only thing making noise, and I can't concentrate.
Perhaps It works for me because it's just background noise.

However, the music is REALLY distracting during a blindfolded solve. I can't concentrate.
