I'm in college and rarely interact with kids, the most common thing I hear from college students and fully-grown adults alike is "I've never been able to solve one". My response is always "Well have you ever looked up how to do it?" It's natural to see a cuber and assume they figured it out themselves, but it's annoying hearing it over and over when it just isn't accurate to the reality of 99% of cubers.

The thing with the corner twists is definitely the most common and annoying thing I get, even when I explain why I must twist a corner if they twisted a corner.
If we were talking actions rather than speech, I hate it when people stop my timer when I'm trying to do some solves, or when I have said what my PB single is only for people to criticise me when I can't replicate that time every solve.

I feel like a lot of things non-cubers say are nice and harmless though, it's nice to see people taking an interest in the hobby and them getting the terminology wrong is pretty unavoidable so I don't mind that.

or when I have said what my PB single is only for people to criticise me
Whenever I say my PB is 26 seconds, they're like, "no it's not," and when I say I'm going to a competition they say "you lie about everything, you are too slow to compete, it takes you 5 minutes to solve a cube." And even if it did take 5 minutes I could still compete

one thing I hate is when a "friend" says "ok now solve the fastest you can!"

then when I solve they say: "man that was so slow"

and I say: "well why don't you solve on that time?"

then they say "but I don't know how to solve, you do"

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

my friend has learnt like 10 pll algs but still doesn't know how to solve a 3x3 until recently. yesterday, he was like '2x2 is harder than a 3x3" and was trying for 30 mins to solve a cube. a showed him a sorta beginner method 'cause he forgot oll algs and he proceeded to solve it under 40 secs.

For me it's the opposite. They count out loud while I solve and then I get a "PB" (Only because they counted out loud) and they're like "You're so fast!"
Lol I was showing a beginner speedcuber an example solve, and He was counting out loud. He got so excited when I got an eleven. But he was counting too slow, the solve that I did was too slow too be an eleven
