There should be a trusted place/person that will tweak cubes

I'm sick of it. I now have 6 different DIYs and NONE of them feel the way I want them to (one is close). I also just got two Meffert's 4x4x4's and they aren't fast at all, I obviously need to break them in, but judging by my past experience even if I try to break them in after reading and watching everything there is to know about the process they still won't turn out like the pro's cubes.

That is why I say there should be some place or someone that all of us noobs can send their cubes to get them tweaked so they feel fantastic, just like the pro's cubes.

Who's it going to be? Who is going find untold riches and start an eBay store that only sells premade DIYs that turn like a dream and Eastsheens & Mefferts modded to perfection? Is there anyone out there that already does this? I couldn't find anyone.

I've got 2 Type A's and 2 Type F's (black and white) still in the bag waiting to be assembled, but I don't think it would be worthwhile to do it myself.

PS - I realize that having the perfect cube won't necessarily take that many/any seconds off of my time, but they are soo much more fun to use.

You need to realize that pros cubes turn so well not because of the cube, but the fact that the person behind it is a pro. Give you and a pro a slightly crappy cube and he will still be far faster than the majority. Have you even ever felt a "pros cube"?

Ton used to do this (a long time ago)
Rama has done it for Edouard
But none of the "pro's" cubes feel the same, so how would anyone know when you consider the cubes "perfect"?

Fair enough, a better way of saying it then would be: someone should make their own interpretation of perfection/awesomeness and sell it to the rest of us. If they produce a good cube then it will really catch on and they will make a lot of money.

I said almost excatly that in my last sentence and yes I've felt a 3x3x3 US national record holder's cube and it was incredible. That same person proceeded to get a sub 12 on my crappy storebought, but I still want a cube like his.

It always feel like you're holding an incredible cube when it's just a little better than the one you have. Sometimes, a little silicone or tension adjusting will work just fine.

Get a DIY and you'll be fine.

EDIT: Oh, just assemble the cubes you have. Why did you buy them anyway?

make sure your cubes are broken in. all good cubes suck out of the box. break them in a experiment a little. everyone likes there cubes a little different. so giving your cube to someone else to mess with might make it worse for you.

Stop being lazy and figure out how to get a cube good for yourself. However, because I'm generous, I am prepared to sell you my awesome 3x3x3 speedcube for US$100. PM me if you are seriously interested.

I just went on that site to find the message "We've got it all." Of the two products you offer, one is coming soon, and the other is out of stock.

I pretty much have the same problem as well. I've been using a crappy storebought until I order like 5 3x3s, 4x4,5x5,2x2 from c4u last month. At first, none of them seemed to be good but after playing around with the tension and everything, they seemed to get better over time.

My type A's (both white and black, mostly black though) still doesn't seem to like me. I'm really lost on what to do with my type As at the moment.

1 question I have about type C's. My white one works great after lubed but my black one just got worse. Before lubing, it was the other way around. Both are at around the same tension too. Anyone know what I should do/try??? Could I have lubed it wrong??(is that possible??)

I would be happy to do this....but I don't think many people would trust me with there cubes since everybody is too suspicious of people over the internet, even people they have met. Ah well :P

@daeyoungyoon: Just adjust the tension on the black one, lube it more, use it more, etc.

Edit: A suggestion, I know all pro's cubes are different, but what if the person who was sending the cube could request how they want it to feel when it was returned (i.e. smooth, easy to turn, doesn't pop).

Adjusting a cube really isn't that hard. You just twist the screws to get the tension you like. We don't need a place where you can send cubes to get their screws tightened or loosened.

LOL, Why don't you take advantage of the fact that they are DIY's and adjust the tension?
I would also recommend putting silicone spray (my store-bought is smoother than my DIY... LOL)
Also, I suggest using it a lot... and by a lot I mean A LOT
One of my friends has a cube that turns smoother than mine (but always feels like it's going to explode O_O) and he didn't lube it... just played with it... for a LONG time...

Then you'll have people sending in crappy storeboughts with the message:
"I want it to turn smoother than a type D, never pop in a lifetime, cut corners better than a type A, and never lock up. Oh and mod it so it'll never need lubing cos I hate those silicone ;) Thanks!"

Messing around the tension is good and all but the problem for nubs like me is that I don't know whether its at a good tension or not because I never even touched a diy before. If I actually used a good diy cube before, it might actually help a little since I would know about how it should feel.(even though everyone has difference opinions) Seeing it online doesn't exactly help much in my opinion. All the cubes I see online seem so good because of the people that are using it. They never seem to lock up on plls and stuff....my pll times suck so bad.

Still, I think its just me that sucks so it should all work out after I get better at using finger tricks and stuff.

I would send it back in a box with one layer chopped off and all the pieces melted and chopped up, also a note saying "Oops." ;)

Dude seriously just adjust your tension and use Silicone, infact it took me a week to adjust my cube and yes it does feel good.

I have seen some Pro's Cubes and they were almost the same. Also everyone has a different preference, a good Example would be Bernett Orlando who uses a Rubik's 5x5x5 but when I tried it, it felt too heavy and I got my worst time.

So it just depends on personal preference
