Hey, I got into cubing late October last year, and currently average 27-28 seconds using CFOP with 2-look OLL and about 14/21 PLLs. My PB is 16.45. I've also been learning Roux (average about 1 minute with it), started OH (average ~1:20) and I'm learning BLD.

I'm interested in quite a few different aspects of cubing, partly shown above, but I also have a 2x2, 4x4, megaminx and mirror blocks, and I figured out the megaminx and a friend's skewb on my own, which was pretty rewarding.

My original goal was to get sub-30 but, as is the way when you reach your goals, now I'd like to get sub-20 with CFOP. Maybe sub-30 with Roux too (although if I prefer Roux once I've got comfortable with it then I might try to get sub-20 with that instead). Not sure what else to say here really.

Hi, welcome to the forum, always good to have more English cubers on here!

I got into (speed)cubing last December, although I've had a cube for years - I only started CFOP on 17/12/12, and I currently average about 27-30.

My original goal was sub 30 too, finally got a sub 30 single after about 6 weeks, then suddenly 70% of my solves are sub 30, so I'm trying sub 20 too! Keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome! Nice to see someone with an open mind towards different methods and events.

Wow, it's your BLD tutorial that I'm learning from! I've done several sighted Old Pochmann solves, but hadn't looked sufficiently into memo. Your letter scheme really pushed me to that realisation of how achievable it really is, so thanks!

I had a cube sitting unsolved in my room for about a year before I finally learnt to solve one once I'd got to university. I imagine plenty of people on here were in that similar situation of having one a long time before they really got into it.

Welcome! Where abouts in England are you? There's a competition in Nottingham coming up!

I live in Manchester, but I'm in Cambridge preparing for exams when the competition is unfortunately. It's a shame there aren't more competitions in the UK.
