Requirements:
- Black DIY type (a) OLD
- CubeSmith Tiles
- CRC 808 Silicone Lubricant
- A screwdriver
Assembly Method:
- Screw Center Pieces until half a notch of threading is visible
- Position Cubies so that the cube is whole
- Position Center Caps
- Apply all stickers
Lubrication Method:
- Disassemble the cube and place Cubies on a paper towl
- Orient Cubies so that 3 surfaces are exposed
- Spray all the Cubies with CRC 808
- Let dry overnight
- Wipe excess lubricant off with tissues
- Assemble the cube
Tension Method:
- Remove the Center Caps and rotate every screw a quarter turn to tighten
- Repeat quarter turns on every screw, equivalently, until "pops" do not occur easily
---
This is the first time I've been happy with my Black DIY type (a) OLD cubes
It currently feels like it's in a state where it needs a little bit of working in so that cutting corners is possible.
I might use some sandpaper on all the Cubies so save time on working the cube in ^_^
I hope this helps fellow newbies, and constructive criticism is more than welcome on any improvements to the method I'm using to "create a speedcube"
