This is the first time I've been happy with my Black DIY type (a) OLD cubes :-)

It currently feels like it's in a state where it needs a little bit of working in so that cutting corners is possible.

I might use some sandpaper on all the Cubies so save time on working the cube in ^_^

I hope this helps fellow newbies, and constructive criticism is more than welcome on any improvements to the method I'm using to "create a speedcube" :-)

Tim.

i'm using almost the same method for assembling. i turn the screws until pops hardly occur
i just use another silicon...shell i think. it's quite good
for beaking in ...i loan the cube :D for a month or two to someone else to play ..and i'll take it back after that period ;) (of course i have more cubes)

correct me if i'm wrong, but some cubers say that the rubiks.com diy is better than the cube4you.com diy.

Yah, it depends on how you like your cube to be. The cube4you.com ones have a more..."hollow" feel, and lighter, which some people don't like; they'd rather go with the more stable/heavier store cube or rubiks.com DIY. Personally if the rubiks.com center caps are better, then I would have no problem with it.
