One of the reasons I went to NY a week ago was to produce this video about Rowe.
I've had the idea to do story based videos on cubers for nearly a year, and finally had the chance to do one. I think there are so many cubers that have beautiful stories that involve cubing and go beyond it. I hope to do more, and I hope people enjoy this one. :)

This is awesome, please do more! Usually you think of these world class cubers and you just know their life in cubing, but it's always interesting to hear more of the story. I kinda wish Fluffy Alligator was mentioned, but I guess it didn't really have a place in the video. Great job as always, Chris.

Nice, but I actually find it a little too focused on cubing still for what the project seemed to be aiming for

Hmm. I suppose. I definitely still want cubing to be a decent focus though. Mostly because I think the cube has impacted a lot of people in various ways (huuuuugely impacted me) and I want to show that along with twists outside of cubing because obviously we all have lives outside of cubing. :)

Very nice video, more of these plz :D On what other cubers do you plan on doing this?

Good question! I've got a couple in mind already, such as Feliks. The others I'll probably keep a secret till I develop a story in my mind more. Don't wanna get someones hopes up if I decide a story won't work. :)

Cool video! Looks like that took an incredible amount of work.

One small piece of feedback: the music in the beginning is quite dramatic, and is playing until 2:36. For me that was a little too much. Maybe it would have served the purpose more if it had been shorter and just in the first few seconds. This way it still acts as an attention catcher and makes the introduction interesting, without feeling exaggerated.

But again, nice work! I think cubing really benefits from well-produced videos as this one.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it. :)

This is a very professional and well produced video, well paced and with a good message, congratulations and thank you for bringing up this kind of video production and quality to the cubing community in videos that show more about the life of cubers, in the "Get to Know Your Favorite Cuber" sense, than just the competitive aspect or the common tutorial/demonstration videos.

The only thing I felt missing in this one was the redemption aspect of Rowe's cubing career in late 2012, that I thought you'd tackle after the world record achievements, when the music changed. I can understand why you didn't, as it would enlarge the video more, and this wasn't exactly a journalistic thorough piece, but I think it would relate and fit with the rest of the video and its underlying uplifting message.

Again, great job and I hope you can do more things like this, particularly with people that are deserving of the recognition and for one reason or another are not so well known, or those that left the cubing limelight after achieving great results that new community members should know about.
