Yes it's definitely A, I play chess too and by experience the rate of men/women is about 20-25:1
And I'm pretty sure Judith Polgar is the perfect proof that a woman can be as good as men when it comes to chess. When it comes to cubing, I'm pretty sure women are at least as good as men if not better (if they had the same motivation as men do).
I met the Polgar sisters, and got a book signed.
Ah, chess.. The good ol' days.. I started playing chess when I was 11 and competed regularly for 2 years. The area I live in is extremely active in chess; when I played I think it was second only to the NYC area in frequency of tournaments. I never took it as seriously as cubing though. There was only really a 5 month span where I started to learn multiple openings and end game tactics, in which my rating improved from an 1100 to a 1660 iirc. Decent for a little kid. lol. Now that I think about it, it was kind of similar to learning new stuff for 3x3 speed.

I remember being so proud of
this back then. Top 75 for my age at the time.
Anyway, I met Susan Polgar as well. I had the opportunity to be one of 30 people that she played an exhibition match with at a state competition. We were divided into two groups on two long tables facing each other. She slowly walked back and forth playing everyone at once. It was pretty cool. I was one of 7 people to beat her.

Although I didn't beat Susan Polgar in a real game of chess, I was ecstatic.
