Hi, which one do you recommend, textured or smooth tiles from cubesmith.com? Ifind the smooth tiles tend to slip but don't know how the textured ones are.

Neither. Stickers are the best in my opinion. You might get sweaty hands from the tiles. Plus you never see many sub 20 users using tiles :D

anybody have textured tiles on a cube that could post a picture?
I find the ones on cubesmith to be too small to see what the actual product looks like. I'd appreciate it!

I think there's not a huge difference between the smooth and textured, but I slightly prefer the smooth. I just dont like the feeling I get when I scrape my fingernail across the textured ones.

For most of my cubes, I use textured tiles. They feel nice and prevent slipping. I feel as if I have a good grip on the cube.

However, I would recommend trying both; at first, when I had only tried smooth tiles, I decided I liked them, but after trying textured tiles my preferences changed.

Here is a picture of textured tiles on my Type A V.

For me, the only up-side of the tiles is the durability. I hate it when I'm cubing at my nails dig underneath the tiles, thus causing an annoying pain.

With stickers, it is harder to get under them, and when I do, it doesn't hurt as much.

But, to answer the question, I prefer smooth tiles. I tried textured tiles on someone else's cube, and I didn't really like it that much. However, it always comes down to preference with each individual person.

I like stickers, although the main reason I don't use tiles is the price. In any event, textured are pretty nice, but I simply prefer the way smooth feels on my fingers. But if you feel textured would be better, go for it.

If it's wear and tear you're worried about CubeSmith stickers are pretty durable (not as durable as tiles) and are easily the best for one-handed (preference but a common one) and they are just fine for regular speed.

Sticking to the original question, i prefer smooth, as textured ones feel a bit odd to me.

But in my own preference, stickers > tiles.

i am a hardcore advocate of textured tiles......there amazing, they pretty much dont get damaged.....
