My teachers told me that they wanted to bring an article about me in the school's newspaper. Then a few days later a guy from television came and filmed some stuff.
i was in local tv and local newspapers, but now a bigger european tv host wants me in his show (servus tv).

I don't want speedcubing to become too popular and i want to hear your thoughts now.
what should i do?

Honestly, I can't see a ton of people getting into cubing just because they heard about it once on the news...but why don't you want it to get more popular?

If you're uncomfortable with publicity for yourself, I understand. I'd be the same way. But if you just don't want cubing to be too popular, don't worry. It won't be.

TL;DR: Go for it unless you're afraid of you personally having publicity (which is perfectly reasonable).

I thought that it was every cubers dream that the sport would catch more interest and become more popular, specially in a country like Austria witch only has a hand full registered cubers.

If you dont want to do it cause you personally dont want to/ are uncomfortable with being seen on tv then dont do it. Otherwise yeah go for it, it sounds fun.

Being on TV is not really as big as it seems. You are broadcast to the whole of the country, but probably like 1% of the country will be watching. Hardly anyone will see you as "that speedcubing guy off TV". You really shouldn't be afraid of any publicity.

I think it's good that speedcubing gets recognised like this on TV. It certainly won't suddenly become really popular. If you get a chance, mention how nice the community is :)

This. It really won't make a big impact. You should just go if you don't mind the publicity.
