Sudoku Speed Blind

Has anyone else tried this? For clarification, what I'm calling Sudoku Speed Blind is just solving an entire sudoku in your head then filling in all the boxes as fast as possible without looking back at the sudoku once you've started writing.

I had 1 attempt and got 25.xx with about 20 minute "memorisation". I think it had 47 empty squares, and was definitely a very easy sudoku.

I don't think cubing and sudoku terms should mix.

Anyway good job, I really don't think anyone has even thought of this. Not many sports have an event like memorising and solving BLD, and A speedcuber and sudoku-er fusion is probably one of the only kind of people who would try this

No, this is definitely speedBLD. The term comes from the fact that it is faster than normal BLD solving, in which the memorization is included in the solution time. So, regular SudokuBLD would include memorization time and solution time as well as writing in the answers.

Alright yeah, I was just thinking about solving with your normal method instead of a BLD method. Didn't think about the memo and exec.
I guess I was also thinking that the name of the new event would come from speedcubing, which has next to nothing to do with sudoku

Oh well, not much of that makes sense to me anymore....

How did you hit the correct squares with your pen without seeing anything?

Also, If I was going to attempt a Sudoko (Speed)BLD, I definitely would do it on video

Yeah I did it a couple of years back on a 'moderate' difficulty one. Didn't time it, but I guess it was half an hour in total or something. I would call it normal bld because 'memorisation' time should be included in the result.
