I have found this to be an extremely important factor to build my confidence, reduce nervousness, get control and consistency in my attempts.

Also limit distractions, gain momentum and build the multi blind arc.

For me the setups that work are, to choose a corner and face the wall. At home, I prefer practicing in a bedroom rather than any other room.

Also I do not simulate white noise, keep windows open for multi blind unlike my practice for other shorter blind events.

I have tried using custom mat , custom harmonica holder, custom welding goggles for concentration, and double ear protection (ear plugs and earmuffs), but all of these things sometimes make me claustrophobic so I avoid using them all.

I generally like to scramble the cubes a few hours before the attempt so that I have a bit of down time to calm myself down, focus on my deliverables and get into the zone.

At comps, the cubes are scrambled a few minutes before which offsets my concentration completely.

One major disadvantage I have is the compact house that I live in. It is more crammed than Hong Kong and Tokyo houses so I have to be very innovative to make sure I get enough space to arrange 10 packs of cube for a multi attempt. Just recently I was able to do this setup in my bedroom without creating a mess, or running out of necessary walking space.

I use two stopwatches and two phone recording setups. Even after technology advances and good batteries, I still get worried about the recording being stopped mid attempt and it throws me off. But multi blind is such an event where recording is essential to track your DNFs and time splits, so choosing not to record is not a viable option.

Temperature and humidity are also major factors creating blow outs of my attempts at home and at comps. There is no way I can control these two factors but I try to analyse the present conditions as much as I can and try to still perform at my level without any blow out of thoughts of quitting attempt coz of discomfort. Some unfortunate quits for me have been, having to go to pee during exec, too much sweat inside the earmuff, itching sensation due to high humidity and just pure fatigue due to hot temperatures during summer. For the city that I live in, it is temperate and super hot climate all year round.

Let me know your thought process and struggles in optimizing multi blind setups at both home and comps.
