I signed up for the TOW 2009 on March 7th (lol, day before my 18th bday :D), and I'm getting nervous as to how to practice to reach my goal (in a month!) of getting sub-30 averages that are consistent, and sub-25 singles, so as to not look like an incompetent piece of crap :(.

I currently average about 37 - 45, depending on good/bad days, and I know 13/21 PLLs and about 13/57 OLLs (just random ones i picked up while learning PLL).

Is it possible for a Gr. 12 student with a LOT of schooling to catch up on (so I might get 2 - 3 hours in a day on weekdays, maybe 4 - 5 on weekends) to REALISTICALLY ACHIEVE:

-- sub 30 averages
-- sub 25 singles
-- ALL PLLs learned, sub-5 times at least??

If you need a look at my "progression" to see if it's possible, my YouTube Channel or CubeMania profile are good references (abr71310 on CM).

EDIT: I signed up for 3x3x3, 2x2x2 and 3x3x3 OH. :D (It's obvious who I am on the CC site, I'm the new kid who's probably not going to be doing that well)

What should I be working on MAINLY for this comp (my first!! :D)??
Should I be buying more cubes/stickers?
Stock:
3 DSes (one NIB, 222 version, 1 painted OLD BRAND (85g) speedcube, good for OH)
4 CS white stickers, 1 CS black, 2 Smooth tiles, 1 textured.
2 Type As (white/black, haven't came yet), 1 YUGA (white, hasn't come yet).
ES 2x2x2
Hybrid Storebought (crap, pops once every 3 solves, might use cubies on another core)
I have CRC lube (2 cans, yay!) and I can always get more from the states the week after the comp.

well you do have 37 days until the competition, so your goals are difinately possible. Don't let school affect your cubing!!...jk, but try to practice as much as you can. You *should* be able to learn full PLL by then, but I'm not sure about the sub-30 average and sub-25 singles.

youve got a lot of practice ahead of you, but if you can put the time in to learn full Friedrich, i think you can get it. march 7th is a pretty tight deadline, especially with schoolwork, but i think its possible.

I'll get some vids up of my CURRENT cube state (I'm compressing the file now in VD, first pass in a Nth pass series -- 50 minuteS?!!! -- Time for my chem/calc. homework. :D)

Sub-30 is my goal, but I'd settle with sub-35 (~33s?), and sub-30 consistent singles... (I get a few, but more "sporadic" than consistent)

abr, why are you lagging on your PLLs!? It seems like a week or 2 ago that you were at 11 PLLs, now 13? Learn one a day and you'll be pretty much done with them in a week.

That is actually a 100% true statement. :(

-- I only am able to "learn" when my brain seems ready; when I try to force-ably learn an alg it doesn't hold (to muscle memory), so I can't consider it learned... furthermore, I suck at recognition (especially with AUFs...) I still have the N perms, the other R perm, the V perm, and the 4 G Perms to learn before I'm done... not too long, though; I plan to learn V, N and R this week, then tackle the Gs next week.

I will focus (hopefully) on the execution times next week. Sound good?

ELLIS YOU GOTTA HELP ME!!! :P

Good execution time should come naturally as long as you're practicing them in regular solves, so I don't think you need to spend time on that specifically.

How are you doing your PLL's now? Is it AUF->alg->AUF or AUF->rotate->alg? I think the second one is better when you're learning the algorithms, and it will make recognition easier because any 1x1x2 blocks will actually be solved. V, R, N's, and G's won't be bad. I thought I gave an ok explanation of the G's, but seeing that you haven't learned them yet I may reconsider :). You'll be fine as long as you really make it a point to finish learning all the algs.
