My rubiks storebought cube just broke so i decided to terrorize aka take out the screw and to my surprise there was a spring is this meant to be?

I lolled. Springs are what makes a cube cut corners, if there weren't any it'd be like an eastsheen(2x2). I'm sorry, but I thought everyone knew that. And most storeboughts' springs creak when you get them too.

You may have mistaken springs with screws. All storeboughts and DIYs have springs (though I've heard the meffert's 3x3 doesnt have springs) or else they wouldn't cut corners. But storeboughts don't have screws so you can't adjust the tension on it.

no but pestvic had a video on how to make store boughts into diys. but you have to buy another core and screws and springs if you want it to be good

You do not have to do this mod to make storeboughts good. You can make it quite good with jig-a-loo(my favorite for storeboughts, but other lubes work), lots of breaking in, and a bit of luck.

i know, when i said have to buy to make it be good. i meant to make the new diy from the video be good...

i think is bad but i take storebought and pull on the core a LOT while watching TV and it is seeming looser. it can cut and even can pop now much like DIY but cannot unscrew but can pull a lot, also bending center left-right help too. LOL

I've just been lubing mine with Vaseline... due to lack of any other lube. It's sexy how well it works now 8D
