The YouTuber SpeedCubeReview was dismissing the Valk 3 Elite M as nothing but a copy of what people like him had done for years. I pointed out that QiYi actually changed the design to mitigate an issue with the Elite Mod that he had not addressed in his video. He deleted my comment.

Another viewer had previously asked him about the same issue, but SpeedCubeReview just insisted that there was no problem. The viewer tried to explain that SCR had overlooked something that could ruin his viewer's cubes, but SpeedCubeReview never replied.

When I tried to post a top-level comment, informing other YouTube users that the explanation in the video may ruin their cubes, and linked to my own documentation (on this forum) that explains the issue, that comment was also deleted. I could put that removal down to preventing self-promotion, but with everything else, that interpretation is generous.

He did reply to me once, just to say that he had made over a thousand YouTube videos, so it was silly of me to assume that he would ever mess up a mod, but he removed that comment himself, which he deserves credit for, so I'm happy to let that go.

The only important point is the unwillingness to permit criticism, and how that negatively impacts the community. This is not a serious issue (nobody is gonna get hurt), but it did bother me, and I was hoping @SpeedCubeReview would be willing to discuss it here.

On reflection, I should probably accept some responsibility for how this interaction went. My original comment was kinda provocative. I took advantage of the fact that SCR was dissing QiYi to turn it back on SCR. I can't remember exactly, but I said something like "QiYi actually understood what they were doing", which was immature, and was obviously not going to encourage a constructive conversation.

I still wouldn't have deleted the comment, but it was a bit dishonest to imply that I was just innocently offering constructive criticism.

SCR also deleted legit comments, but I can see a popular YouTuber being too busy to curate every comment, and just deleting anything that they associate with a sh*t-poster.

In the end, having considered things from SCR's point of view, this all seems a bit tit for tat. Ultimately, SCR didn't respond, and I have to accept that they're not really obliged to, so I'll just apologize for my part, and leave it there.

I'm also sorry to the community for posting this in the first place. I should've just let it go. I'm sorry.

This is probably the main factor.

A while back, most of his videos had an interlacing-related issue that was severely degrading the visual quality. I messaged him once about it on YouTube and probably got ignored (but also my YT username is literally shitposting; hard to blame him), then a few months later I messaged him again here and he fixed it for his later videos.
