Speedcuber needed for Film

I am an independent film director in need of a speedcuber for my upcoming short. We will be shooting in Los Angeles in early 2010.

Low budget, low pay. But a fun project with good people! And a chance to see your skills in a new context.

By the way, if that really was your Bio, you should make a glass rubik's cube. I would be impressed.

I'm from PA and I have a sister in L.A. too bad it's in LA and not PA and too bad my sister can't cube. I think L.A. cause lots of films are shot there.

Synopsis and links

Hey guys.
Thanks for the responses.

The movie is like a video game come to life.
POGs (the collectable toys from the early 90s) are magic.
Ordinary people can use them to gain super powers.
The 'last boss' character hurls rubik's cubes and globes.
The hero must solve the cubes to defeat him.
The speedcubing section would be shot as a close up.
Since the speedcuber will be a 'stunt double' for our main character.

Paying for airfare shouldn't be necessary, there are plenty of capable cubers in LA. Just wait a day or two. You might also try contacting Tyson Mao, one of the Board Members of the World Cube Association, he's used to handling things like this, and might have some recommendations. I'm a cuber in the Riverside area and would love to get a chance to fill this role. I can solve in 15 second on average and can do one-handed solves in 24 seconds on average. Also, I sent an email with a couple of videos to check out.

Jon. Perhaps you could post a picture here of the main character, for people to judge themselves against. I think that that may be easier for everyone.

you know, that's how the real world works. People meet with one another. He obviously needs a picture to select if you are going to be in his MOVIE which is a series of pictures. Why bother meeting with someone unless you know that they will be a viable candidate.

I don't see why you need the person to look remotely like the character. It's just going to be a close up of the hands, so you can use make up & stuff to change the skin tone.

I know. It's perfectly ok for him to ask for a picture. Sorry, I was raised by a overprotective mother I think It's great what he is doing, it's just I would feel better if it was a male (or fairly fit female) >18.
