I searched but couldn't find an answer. Are non competing spectators allowed to events like the world championships? Since many competitors are very young I'm assuming parents / guardians / guests are permitted but what about people like myself who would just like to watch and film? Is there some separate registration process? Would such spectators be forced to sit in a spectator area or be allowed to get a little closer while not disturbing the competition? The Dutch Open is the only one I attend but that's combined with Cube Day and general milling around is allowed.

From my experience, all the large-scale competitions I've been to (US Nats '09, '14, '16; Worlds '13) have been open for anyone to spectate. A sort of exception to this is US Nationals 2014, where spectators and competitors alike had to pay admission price to the museum where the competition was being held (but they get to see the museum too!).
