Hi I've jst bought a Rubik's classic cube.Though, I can only do the first two layers by the traditional way(the cross then the corners..etc). The thing is I can do them logically so the second I get to the last layer I am stuck because I totally suck at memorizing things.(Besides I hate doing things I don't understand ,so I guess that's another reason I can't do it XD)

I am not super in logic but I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a simple way to solve it using logic (with no memorization T.T)

You could use the algorithms and see how they work, that could help you understand them, hence it becomes logic :)

well ,there is a difference between following a concept and following a series of memorized steps .Anyway, seeing the dozens and dozens of algorithms , some are so long some are complicated and some are neither ,studying their mechanism is a choice but I'd prefer to study the concept of making them rather than studying them to reach that concept.(if you get what I mean)

If you want to solve the cube with NO memorization, try the Heise method.
http://www.ryanheise.com/cube/heise_method.html
It is excellent for fewest moves solving, but not that great for speed. I think you can reach sub-20 with it, but anything faster would require some memorization.

well, right now I am trying this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMuGAmdr8m4 it uses three mixed methods I kind of liked it as a start for me before trying another way.It goes like :
1. making a small 3×2×2 cube
2.making a cross at the side that is not included in the small cube
3.this leaves us a maximum of five corners in the wrong position,so we use commutators and conjugates to solve them.

well, there are two problems that I am facing.First is being able to make the corss.I am only able to put three and I have a problem with the fourth edge -excluding several lucky times- .Second, is fully absorbing the idea of commutators and conjugates to use them.I am still kind of pondering about the first one explained ryan heise site(the three corner cycle) and how to do the cycle with any three corners.
