Disassemble, then reassemble as you clean pieces to make the puzzle dry. On 6x6 and 4x4, I don’t disassemble one corner chunk of the cube. I build another corner chunk which has been cleaned, then take apart the first one to clean. Then I finish assembling the cube. It should be much faster now. Put it on a tension you like(don’t forget to test all the inner layers)(make sure it’s even.” Then lube according to your preference, though try not to use heavier lubes(eg. Wt5, Wt4, Traxxas.) You should use something lighter(I use Lunar, Silk, and sometimes Compound X when the cube is too fast, though you can also use Lubicle Speedy, DNM, Mystic, Gravitas, Dignitas, Lubicle 1, Celeritas, Compound V{If you still have some because it was discontinued}, Martian, Nebula, Galaxy, Candy Cane, Jack-o-Lantern, or Solar.) I used to use DNM, but it leaves too much residue in the winter because there is very little humidity. I use this technique for all of my cubes from 2x2-7x7 and Skewb, Squan, Mega, and Pyra. IDK about clock. It leaves you with an incredible feeling cube with little friction, yet still controllable(might be because my cubes are pretty tight.) Too keep your cubes in peak condition for as long as possible, clean out any residue that you see(Don’t disassemble the cube, there will hardly ever be any residue in the mechanism because dust/dirt/whatever other stuff rarely ever reaches there) This should leave you with an amazing cube for a long time. Although disassembling the cube, cleaning it, and reassembling it can be a pain, it yields much better results. Hope this helps.
